While cishet aroaces aren't oppressed by homo/transphobia, they still are placed under a societal pressure to have sex, get married, etc etc. Gatekeeping the community only causes tension within. No matter what you think is or isn't lgbtqia+, you aren't going to make others feel the same way. Saying things like this and making people feel excluded is not what the community needs right now.

gatekeeping is a word coined by trans women to describe the fact that they are denied life-saving medical care. you cant co-opt it for this.
ace and aro are both entirely valid identities, but neither are inherently lgbt. you can be an lgbt ace or aro, you can be a cishet ace or aro, and cishets are never lgbt. its not that fucking hard to understand.

the a was originally intended to include closeted lgbt people who are not safe to come out. the whole “a is for ace” thing is incredibly new to the whole movement.
