“Marcelo did not play in the game but joined a handful of team-mates in a warm-down session around 20 minutes afterwards. “I didn’t realise it was actually him, I didn’t know what to say. So I told him very politely I was busy studying for my exams and asked him to call me back a bit later. When I’d put the phone down I thought ‘balls’ and I went to tell my older brother about it. He told me I was mad to have hung up on Zidane.” (x)
