I love how people think I’m organised and good at studying when in actual fact I spend hours procrastinating on the internet when I should be doing school work, have no concept of time, and here I am literally doing an assignment in the class before the one it’s due in.

Sueños.

Soñé que te tenía y que podía hacer lo que quisiera, lo imaginas, vivir de la música, viajar al sur y fumar ver la estrellas y dormir en un bosque. Sueños muy utópicos e irreales, Sueños que hacen tener esperanza. Soñé que nunca te perdía y que te interesabas en la fotografía, que seguíamos viajando, Para recordar cada lugar donde estuvimos. Desperté y vi que la utopía me hace ver lo que no tendré más, lo que me hace daño y no volverá.

Lo imposible es  una burla de los dioses. Fue por eso que estos desaparecieron. No fueron capaces de nadar en nada. Todos venimos al mundo con la obsesión de lo imposible. Y cuando tomamos conciencia de que el imposible es eso: un imposible, ya es tarde para refugiarnos en la sensatez.Todos queremos lo que no se puede, somos fanáticos de lo prohibido. Algunos lo llaman utopía, pero la utopía es más seductora. No tiene puertas cerradas como lo imposible. No nos desprecia como lo prohibido. La utopía tiene la gracia de los mitos, la maravilla de las quimeras. Si tenemos ánimo, paciencia y un poco de ilusión, podemos navegar en la barcaza de la utopía, pero no en el acorazado de lo imposible.Lo prohibido es un desafío que casi siempre nos derrota. La única posibilidad de vencerlo es llevarle la contra a los pontífices, que siempre han sido los jefes de lo prohibido. También lo son los dictadores, pero los pontífices al menos no torturan.  A veces lo imposible lo llevamos en el ánimo, y éste no es capaz de dar el salto sobre lo prohibido. Y si como excepción alguien se animara a dar el salto, se encontrará con que lo prohibido es un abismo.Y entonces, ciao.

Sometimes I wonder why non English speakers are like this

because it’s a funny harmless joke at the expense of the world’s current lingua franca, whose native speakers often make fun of the ‘weird’ accents and pronounciation of people who very likely speak at least one more language then they do.

concept: I’m able to fluently express myself in a wide range of languages. The eyes of native speakers lighten up when they hear me speak their language, complimenting me on my skills. I have now access to culture and people in a way I never had before.

read interesting books. listen to beautiful lyrics and melodies. write your own stories. go to concerts, parks and museums. study hard. take care of yourself. stay hydrated. learn to appreciate the little things. travel. learn a language. remind your friends that you’re there for them. be kind, and feel.

Poetry In Spanish, Day One- January 1, 2017

Si tu me olvidas por Pablo Neruda (Chile, 1904-1973)

Quiero que sepas una cosa.

Tú sabes cómo es esto: si miro la luna de cristal, la rama roja del lento otoño en mi ventana, si toco junto al fuego la impalpable ceniza o el arrugado cuerpo de la leña, todo me lleva a ti, como si todo lo que existe, aromas, luz, metales, fueran pequeños barcos que navegan hacia las islas tuyas que me aguardan.

Ahora bien, si poco a poco dejas de quererme dejaré de quererte poco a poco.

Si de pronto me olvidas no me busques, que ya te habré olvidado.

Si consideras largo y loco el viento de banderas que pasa por mi vida y te decides a dejarme a la orilla del corazón en que tengo raíces, piensa que en ese día, a esa hora levantaré los brazos y saldrán mis raíces a buscar otra tierra.

Pero si cada día, cada hora sientes que a mí estás destinada con dulzura implacable. Si cada día sube una flor a tus labios a buscarme, ay amor mío, ay mía, en mí todo ese fuego se repite, en mí nada se apaga ni se olvida, mi amor se nutre de tu amor, amada, y mientras vivas estará en tus brazos sin salir de los míos.
