Quark was growing restless. The old refurbished runabout’s inertial dampeners must have been taken off a ridiculously small shuttle, because they were quite frankly ineffective. As a result, sleeping on that thing was near impossible, even with the autopilot. It swayed like an ancient watership, much like the ones that were used to transport goods on Ferenginar, long before the first fuel-powered engines or electricity or factories or even money were invented. Usually, Quark wouldn’t have batted an eyelash at sacrificing a little bit of comfort in order to save latinum. But here he was, six days in, surrounded with nothing but the vast emptiness of space, relying on outdated instruments to guide him to his destination.
