I put so much work into that fic, and while I’ve unintentionally put so much distance between myself and my fics over the last month or so, I still love them all so dearly. how do you write marvin (and jason, i guess, since they’re both somewhat similar)? the way that you characterize them is so good
The best advice I can give you is to never shy away or trivialize a character’s flaws - but, at the same time, do not make their entire characterization centered around those flaws.
Sure, Marvin has faults but he also has charm. Make him likable, so when his flaws are shown, the reader hates his choices without hating him as a person.
