I gotta say, even though I'm no longer shipping my V with River, just taking a little peek into the Cyberpunk 2077 fandom is very efficient at reminding me why exactly I am incredibly happy to not have spent hours and hours on making fan art for it like I do my other freaky little passions.

I often think about how Zevran's stories about Antiva seemed so enchanting to Valo, even when he's just talking about how he managed to get all the fish wives to ban him from the fishing stalls for life once, in the sense that prior to the Blight Valo really had no idea what city life was like, and his world was very insularly limited to his clan. The sheer size and variety of what Zevran tells him seems wondrous.

But I don't often think about how Valo will casually start to talk about how every Arlathvhen that one clan of shapeshifters always seems to wreck something, because some of them just refuse to stay in manageable person sized forms and will instead join the evening dances as a bear or something, and one time actually one of the other clan Keepers mistook an actual bear for a fellow elf for a full hour or so, until it got sick of being hand fed and was spooked off by all the kids running around, and Zevran will just be nodding along like he isn't internally questioning whether some Dalish stereotypes are actually completely deserved and how amazing that is.

The problem with being a discovery writer and fanfiction is that it’s really hard to not start posting your fic midway when it’s coming along, even though you are well aware of the risk that halfway there the plot changes enough that you need to rework all the earlier chapters to course correct.

And I don't wanna hear it, I know I could and a lot of people would even prefer it if I just waited to post the thing until I was done with it entirely.

But here's the thing though. If I don't start sharing the work I really will never finish it. At least when I've started posting it the fact that other people want to see how it ends gives me the motivation to, you know, take the story to its end.

people say folks with adhd struggle with "delayed rewards" aka long term goals and as such we tend to focus more on short term rewards. what they don't talk about is that at when we Do accomplish long term goals we don't actually feel anything proportionate to the amount of work we did to achieve it. In my head I suffered for a while and then money spontaneously appeared in my bank account.

Consider: This is also why we struggle with finishing things and the last 10% of a project. Because we know from experience that we've already squeezed most of the reward feeling from it along the way and the final blip of dopamine won't be particularly impressive compared to the sheer bullshit the perfectionism of those last 10% requires.

The final 10% are hardest because the effort vs. reward are particularly out of proportion to each other.

Most people usually have at least a couple of their own OCs that would get along.

Not me though, I make jealous bitches only. When one is in the limelight the others wanna beat their ass cause they could do better actually.

Yes this is about Valo and Sacha.

Valo thinks Sacha is suspicious, power hungry and completely indoctrinated by Circle rhetoric. Didn’t help that Sacha exiled the Grey Wardens from Orlais.

Sacha meanwhile doesn't like that Valo is considered almost a living legend, clearly this is a threat to his authority as Inquisitor, nor does he like that Valo is friends with both Lelianna (his political rival) and Morrigan (his magical advisor he only agreed to work with because he didn’t need yet another enemy).

So naturally I made the two of them meet and strike up an alliance between the Inquisition and Valo's Amaranthine Warden faction.

Dw they hated each other the whole way through.
