I love when you find an author who just has a good flavor to their writing. It could be the way they handle characters, the way they use certain tropes or themes, even the specific lilt of their words. Its familiar and comforting and carries across different stories, like coming back to a place of comfort and recognizing the furniture.
fic idea: virgil was the one who prompts roman to join the dark side with him and remus, no matter how much it tortures him to go back to being 'evil' he knows that he needs to do this to help thomas realize that there isn't such a thing as 'dark' sides, every side can be dangerous but every side has a purpose. so, for the greater good, he confronts his biggest fear and becomes the villain, and because he loves roman too much to let him go through it alone, that he's even fine with making a truce with remus who makes him very anxious and is one of his ex friends from the pre-redemption era to support his best friend right now.
Something Iāve noticed about Romanās arc is from Romanās perspective this must be the most infuriating game of mixed signals
So first heās a dick to Virgil ((not nice but Virge wasnāt exactly reaching across the aisle in that regard)) and heās called out on it. So Roman changes!
So when the next Dark Side pops up (Janus) heās much more willing to hear him out. And he gets guilt tripped by Patton for it
So he takes Pattonās lead and starts treating Deceit like the villain the others make him out to be. And suddenly Patton and Thomas are switching it up and Romanās in the wrong once again!
If theyāre going to treat Roman like a villain no matter what he decides to do. Why should he bother trying to act like a hero?

So letās imagine Roman and Janus being on okay terms pre-trial episode. The two would re-enact musical and plays or go on adventures in the imagination, (basically go out on dates, not that either would admit that now) without the other lightsides knowing. Roman, at some point, wanted Janus to get the attention he deserved and helped think of ways to help him get that without any of the other sides (mostly Virgil) getting too agitated by Janusās presence. Him and Remus (the twins have a love hate relationship most of the time) suggested to just keep pretending as other sides until an opportunity comes up.
The trial episode happens and with everyone telling Roman that Janus is bad and he was bad for even trying to side with him, Romanās view on Janus changes as he was also manipulated into choosing between the wedding and Thomasās dreams. Before Roman could even work out a way to apologize to Janus for not choosing something great for Thomas, he was betrayed by him. When Janus essentially releases Remus onto the others abruptly and harm Thomasās mental health was the final straw for Romanās adoration and trust of Janus.

Soulmates...
He hated the term with every fiber of his being, He wanted nothing to do with these complete strangers. He didnāt want the universe to make a decision for him, chain him to people that heāll probably not only hate but will only be disappointed when they meet him. He didnāt want anything to do with that shit.
Then the universe decided to say "Fuck you Virgil" and throw 5 at him instead.

Soulmate au fic that I really wanna write where Janus is soulmates with everyone(aka DLAMPR) but soulmates stay the same every lifetime but theres a chance to have multiple soulmates and in rare cases you donāt meet them all in that life before you or your soulmates dies.(especially in janusās case, for reasons iāll get into shortly) With each life once you hit a certain age(say somewhere between 19-20) and/or meet your soulmate, you gain the memory of every life youāve had in the past, specifically the life you lived with your soulmate.(also soulmates arent inherently romantic in this world, and iāll mention that roman and remus are always inherently platonic soulmates to eachother, and are often born as twins to eachother, and if not, are often always the first meet in their group)
Janus is a very special case, and in their world considered almost an anomaly.
All the information gained in the world is supplied from his soulmates, who at the end of each of their current lives always end up together as a group, though it on average happens pretty early on in their lives, minus janus.
Janus is an anomaly because it seems that heās dying every lifetime time that he meets one of his soulmates, lost to the world 24 hours after hes come into direct physical contact with the first of his soulmates in that lifetime.
