Everything is going good over here. A lot of changes for the new year but good changes, so I'm happy. How about you? How are things going?

i never thought i’d be making a post like this, but unfortunately, early this morning around 4 a.m., someone crashed their car through the window of our apartment living room. we’re all okay (my sister @nucrests, our cat, and i), but the damage is quite severe, and our living situation is not ideal at the moment. while insurance covers damage to our furniture, the temporary fixes to the wall/window are unsafe.
we’re in a stable financial position, but if anyone is willing to help us find a new living arrangement, i’ll provide more details below (along with photos of the incident).

So... while I was neglecting sim stuff, I forgot to renew the domain so somebody else got it, lol. You still can access everything on the blog tho at mellindi.wordpress.com.
Any post of mine floating around here can still be accessed, you just need to change "mellindi.com" in the url to "mellindi.wordpress.com".

You're no bother anon :) And I can't seem to find them either but fortunately, I made this page on my long-forgotten gameplay blog that lists everything. My settings are slightly different now and as follows (copied from my MCCC settings doc):
"Adult": 60, "Baby": 0, "Child": 20, "Elder": 50, "Teen": 16, "Toddler": 18, "YoungAdult": 65
Idk why baby is set to 0, it was 2 before I updated this morning so idk what's going on there. Pregnancies are still set to 6 days.

Going on Hiatus
Since I popped in for a minute today, imma go ahead and let y’all know I’m going on hiatus for a while. Life’s busy and I’m not really feeling the sims (and all things sims related, lol) so imma just log out for a while and focus on other things. I’m sure my motivation/interest will come back one day, it always does, eventually, but that day is not today. Be safe and have fun! ♥

Just a question about stories. I have this story idea, the characters are fleshed out and I have a few of the plots written out. Although I’m having some trouble with actually starting the first few scenes. I am unsure of how to introduce my story to readers and how to build up the momentum to the plots I have in mind.
Do you have any advice on how to begin writing the first couple of scenes to set up the story? & also how you approach this?
Heeeeeey! It sounds like you may have been on a much-needed break, if so, good for you! So I'd say with sim stories specifically, just based on my own observation, people usually care about the stories of sims they care about. Like when we read legacies and we watch a sim grow from childhood to adulthood and we feel all attached to them and invested in whatever happens in their lives. So I would start by introducing my sim (and you could choose how you want to do this). It could be something like a full-blown post telling us all about their background, traits, and all that stuff, or it can be more subtle with us just tagging along with them as they go through the motions of life allowing us to fall into their world. Every story I've posted on here have all been by accident lol— actually, that's not true. I have made a few intentional attempts, but with all of those, I chose to go the simple introduction route. You can see one an example with my messy lawyer chick Mallory, and another with the first sim in my failed attempt at a rotational gameplay story, Maurice, aaaaaand another with Camilla's story that started out as random gameplay, but we know how that turned out. So yeah, decide what's best for your story anon, but I think some kind of introduction is what I would shoot for 😊.
