“What? Yeah, no, of course… Of course, I was totally listening.”

Siobhan laughed, shaking her head. “You weren’t but it’s okay. I sort of drifted into rambling stupid shit that didn’t even make sense at the end there. Enough about me though. How was your New Years? Do anything fun?”

“Want to guess how many New Years related accidents I had to work on these past two days? Way too many. Like, it’s not that hard to get an Uber of Lyft. Even triple A was offering free towing. People don’t think with their brains.”

Image

“People are fucking idiots. There’s even people that offer to be designated drivers if they’re asked. I could never be okay with putting my life in danger like that let alone someone else’s. But hey, at least you were there to help.”

“Let me guess, you’re the type of person who actually believes that New Years resolutions work.” There was a hint of disbelief in Angel’s voice, and just a tiny bit of judgment. More like, a whole lot of judgment. New Years resolutions were childish in his opinion and he couldn’t believe that there were actually people who still believed that they were useful in any way.

Image

“Not exactly. Most of the time they don’t really work out because by the fourth day everyone’s given them up. But they’re still alright to make. I have a couple. They might work, might not but at least I have goals to try to reach rather than pissing away the entire year.” Siobhan shrugged her shoulders.

“You’ll just have to wait until Christmas, like I would spill the beans on what I got you.” Thea laughed, slipping her arms through Siobhan’s and walked them along the mall, “but honestly, I am glad Christmas is once a year or else I would be stressed twenty-four seven on buying gifts and having to wrap them.”
image
“What? How is that fair? You know what I’m getting you,“ Siobhan was aware of the fact that she sounded like a little kid but she wasn’t being that serious. Beginning to walk with her friend around the mall that looked more like a winter wonderland around this time of year. “Christmas and birthdays are the only time anyone gets gifts from me. Those people that do surprise gifts are psychos. Shopping for people is hard as hell.”

“Right–definitely not fooling me, Pinocchio.”The man joked right back towards her. “You’re welcome by the way. Don’t get too jealous. I know you won’t be able to top it.” Another proud smile easily surfacing on to his features.
image
“Okay you’re right, even I know I’m lying,“ She laughed, she was a good gift giver but never went too high in price for most people. “Thank you. Now fuck off before my offer of food leaves the table again. In fact hurry up and get ready before I change my mind anyway.” Siobhan smiled teasingly.

“Well, you never know! How many nights have we had out that we can’t remember? Exactly, we can’t remember so.. who knows, it might’ve happened, or speaking of de ja vu, it could happen! Time will tell..” A widespread grin eased unto her features as she looked over at the brunette with nothing but sparkling eyes. “We should totally go out tonight. Not kidding. I’m in need of a solid forget everything sesh, and you need to increase your chances of meeting your prince charming. It’s a win-win.”
image
“I’m not sure prince charming would want to meet me while I’m drunk off my ass but hey it’s better he gets to know that side of me sooner rather than later,” Siobhan wasn’t one to ever say no to the offer of a night out. She had been trying her best to change her habits but old habits always died hard. “So fuck it I’m in. I’m not accidentally on purpose loosing my footing and falling off a table though. I might get a concussion if prince charming doesn’t actually appear. And you’ll be too drunk to attempt to catch me. Hell you might be on the table with me.”

“Ouch, really? Crying? How scary are you?” He teases, a slight grin soon appearing as he finishes off making someone’s drink, sliding it over to them without taking his attention off of her. Genesis was getting busy as of late, much to his dislike considering he just wanted to keep it the way it was. But then again, it was good for business. It just meant he’d have to take more care. “Just kidding.. but in that case, you really did earn it. What can I get you? It’s on the house.”
image
Siobhan put her head down slightly, laughing a bit as she shook her head before looking back up at him. “You better be kidding. I’m wonderful,” She spoke, her eyes scanning the different bottles of alcohol behind him. Even though she knew she’d go with her usual. Shrugging, her eyes met his again. “You know me, a tequila sunrise. Heavy on the tequila and light on the sunrise. Thought I’d try something different but I can’t cheat on my baby tequila.”

I thought that was you.” He said with a smile, now that he knew he wasn’t crazy. “Sorry– sometimes people get away from me, and honestly, it’s been years.” Too many years. That any probably too many drugs in the past so things that long ago were a little cloudy. “I mean, I know, but street food still gets me sometimes.” Especially when he didn’t think they care about health codes, but hell– who was he to complain? He was hungry. “But I can’t say no to that, so lets test fate.”
image
“Too many years thanks to who Mr. disappearing act,” She joked, although her words weren’t that fair with the disappearing act she pulled herself. Always being one to run rather than deal when her life wasn’t going exactly as she wanted it too. A major flaw of hers. “I’ve been to this cart a few times. No problems so far. I went to a place in Brooklyn once and the aftermath of that was just horrible. I don’t know how I ended up trying them again.” It was likely due to one of her many drunken stupors.

“I usually go for a watch if they wear them, or cuff links? Guys are much harder to shop for though which is probably why I always end up giving them a wad of cash or gift cards.” Thea admitted with a slight smile on her face, chuckling lowly. “Socks are always a good gift, you can never have too many pairs.”
Image
“Socks, gift cards, wads of cash, watches maybe, and cuff links. That’s a good list to work with. Who gets what I don’t know but I’ll definitely diversify. That beats getting all of them the same pack of socks,” She laughed, shaking her head. “What are you getting me?”

“I thought about it,” she admitted after a long pause, hues relegating on the world beyond her penthouse window. “But I love Christmas in New York. I wouldn’t miss it.” Even if she refused to spend the actual day with her own family and had been plagued by The Gazette and her own misdeeds whilst in the city, Regina would never leave. She couldn’t. There were far more reasons to stay than vacate and a Salazar never scurried off with their tail between their legs. “What are you doing for the holidays? Any plans?”
Image
“I understand,” She nodded, her eyes following her friends outside the window. Siobhan always did love New York a little bit more around the holiday season. Simply for the beauty of it. No place she’d been came close. “Making the rounds to deliver gifts like I’m Santa or some shit. And then maybe going bar hopping. How about you?” Siobhan hadn’t mentioned that the thought of calling her brother or even her dad had been weighing on her mind. The fear of them not answering stopping her from doing it.

“Yeah… I’m not sure how well that would have gone over,” Darcy laughed, placing a hot cup of coffee down onto the counter for Siobhan. “Could I entice you to get your head off my counter with a little caffeine and an Advil?” A teasing smile remained on her face, though it grew more triumphant as her friend commented on the decor. “I’ll take that as a compliment –thank you! Apparently many, many people.”

“Caffeine and advil? You clearly know the way to my heart,” Siobhan reluctantly lifted her head from the counter. Grabbing the coffee cup by the handle and taking a small sip. “I swear no one in the city makes good coffee except you,” She offered a small smile, setting the coffee down before running her fingers through her hair and pulling the brunette colored mess into a ponytail. “You’re welcome. And those many many people need help. Do I sound like too much of a grinch?”

“Have you ever felt as though you’re on the one way train to insanity and no matter what you do, you simply cannot get off of it?” The admittance fell from parted lips as Regina tightened her arms around her ribcage in a subconscious act of self preservation. “The past month has felt like that. I don’t know what I’m doing here, Siobhan.” The tight grasp on control she normally boasted about appeared to have loosened over recent months and with it slid her sense of balance. “It’s as if ever since I turned thirty, my life upturned itself.” @siobhangilbert

The words made Siobhan think of the state she left Los Angeles in. She’d felt trapped with no way out until she got into her car and left the city. Siobhan knew it wasn’t as easy as that for her friend though. She had no reason to stay but it was different for Regina. “I know how it feels. The insanity. Have you tried maybe getting out of town for a weekend?” If she couldn’t leave forever then maybe some time away would suffice.

“I think there more realistic term for that is — cheap.” He mused while shaking his head. But the man smiled back with their back and forth. “If you’re wanting me to come up with something, you’re going to be disappointed. You can’t have your cake and eat it too.”
Image
“I am not cheap. Just for that I’m going to blow all my money getting everyone gifts,” It was a joke but Siobhan had planned on getting him a really good gift. If only to prove him wrong about her cheapness. “Okay fine I’ll just have the cake. My nickname is the best anyway. We’re not getting any better than it I’ve decided.”

“Oh my god,” she laughs, amusement colouring her features as she tucks her legs under her, trying to pretend she totally didn’t pour Bailey’s into her hot cup of coffee situated between her fingertips. Well, she didn’t really have to around Siobhan, knowing that the two were like-minded, and she wouldn’t judge. “That is literally the best dream, all I have are stupid nightmares about things going wrong on my projects. Why can’t I dream up the perfect, tall, dark and handsome man to catch me when I fall? You’re so lucky. —And hey, let’s not rule out de ja vu, yeah? You never know..”
Image
“Deja vu? Wow I never thought of that. You’ve ruined my life now. What if it did happen and I was too drunk to remember?” Siobhan knew she had a problem with her biggest Vice being alcohol. But all throughout her life she’d been able to do what she wanted without anyone saying different. And by now she was too old to listen to anyone. “Now I’ve got to ask all my bartender friends if this happened.”

“You know me so well.” Thea smiled towards Siobhan, she was certain if she wasn’t her best friend her life would have been a tad bit boring since it was the other’s ideas in most of their shenanigans. “So who else do you have on your list? Perhaps I can help.”
Image
“Mostly just the girls. I was thinking I could kill all those birds with one stone in Tiffany’s. The guys are the difficult part,” Siobhan shook her head, scrolling through the list of names on her phone. “I mean what do you get a guy? Socks better be an acceptable gift because that’s what I’m thinking. Simple and they’ll get use out of them. What do you think?”

(ノ^_^)ノ STARTER FOR @siobhangilbert

“Alright, that is the last time I let you pick the bar,” Alex commented with a grimace as he slid back into the booth they were sharing. “Those bathrooms are filthy!” The older male pulled out the trusty hand sanitizer he always kept in his coat pocket and rubbed it vigorously around his hands. “Good whiskey though,” he added with a grin shoving his friend lightly with his elbow.

Siobhan finished off the last sip of her drink while listening to his complaint. Placing the glass back down, she rested her chin on top of one of her palms, elbow resting against the table top. “Do you know how elitist you sound, Nielsen?” She asked, reaching over and pushing him playfully, giggling before she settled back into her seat.

Abel glanced over at the brunette as she sat before him, arching a brow as he glances briefly at the time on his phone, quick to pull the cigarette from his lips to speak. “It’s one AM, Gilbert.. aren’t you a little late considering you’re usually in by eleven thirty?” Amusement danced across his features, taking another drag without hesitation as he glanced around the bar, a billow of smoke escaping his parted lips before returning his gaze back to, undoubtedly, one of his favourite customers.

Genesis had always been her favorite bar in all of New York. Half the reason being the owner. Someone she could always talk to and who looked after her when she was too far gone to look after herself. She leaned in listening to what he had to say. “Contrary to popular belief I do have a job sometimes. It was only supposed to be an hour or so but the girl I was styling was so indecisive. I almost said fuck her and was going to leave then she started crying and I felt bad,” Siobhan rolled her eyes, folding both of her hands atop of the surface of the bar. “I was on my way home but I felt like I earned a few drinks.”
