I’m a wee bit embarrassed,as the leader guy said “no selfies”, which doesn’t mean “no subtle pics ” to me, but he clarified that to no pics for the second half, so I’ve just got these.

Una was lovely, just a ray of sunshine, and said that Rupert was the naughtiest on set, and would nudge her (she mimed falling over) and tell rude jokes.

Jonathan I asked if he thought Anderson had a mental breakdown over Sherlock’s death/return, and he said yes absolutely, and then implied -implied only- maybe some repressed uh…feelings for Sherlock. Said “strong feelings, right from the start, not just the competitive aspect, but VERY STRONG FEELINGS” and “well we don’t know what was going on there….” He also said that he imagined Anderson now as trying to get his job back, with not much luck.

Wanda Ventam was lively and sharp as a tack, said that Ben was moving in October and described their babies (laughingly said the 4 month old boy has “alien eyes” like Ben). Briefly described Ben’s daily workouts of an hour, and what Dr. Srange producers required. Her hubby was sweet but very quiet, and said that Steven had the idea for them to be in Sherlock but ran it by Ben first.

Mark said that he always assumed they’d do more seasons, and anything else was “click bait” that he never said. I asked him - nicely!- if he thought using things like the Garridebs as throw-away references in the last episode took them if the table for future use, and he said no, and that “the big emotional moment, it’s there” or something like that (he rambles a bit), so I’m not sure if he meant the hug, or something in the future.

Major Sholto was funny and loved being there, saying repeatedly that they were a big family, as it’s the same crew, writers etc on many shows, and so he was invited in to be family, and now the convention was like a reunion 11 thousand miles from home.

Sue was smart and warm, and described trying to get another season going as “well I leave it a while, then I start calling them and saying sooo when are you free?” Also said stuff she’s said before, I’ll skip it.

Mark also said about the skull pic that the original artist was charging them a fortune so they just had Arwel make them one. Arwel pointed out that their budget was actually quite limited, and that 4.3 the “Bond lair” was his vision, and had to be done inexpensively. Sue also made some brief mention of having a small budget, so this is obv. a big thing.

Andrew Scott seemed a bit shy, like he was pushing himself past it, or maybe rather private? Great Irish(?) accent. I asked if he was thrilled to be asked back for 4.3 and he replied oh god yeah, especially with that entrance. Interestingly, he said the pool scene was never meant to be shot, it was written off-the-cuff as audition stuff, but then they liked it so much they wrote it in. Moriarity’s original line was “ that’s what people do, they grow old an die and blah blah etc” but he (Andrew) shortened it with that amazing delivery and that’s how it stayed.

Ok, must sleep now but if I remember more tomorrow I’ll post it!

:) Thank you for sharing, many intriguing bits in this - but I’ll respond only to the budget thing. Why do they have had a small budget in the first place? A successful TV show like SHERLOCK, sold to over 220 countries, with extensive merchandise, is handled like a stepchild by the Beeb? Pressure point to impinge on the content?

‘Sherlock’ a big winner for BBC’s finances : https://www.ft.com/content/3cc9afc4-2d0e-11e4-911b-00144feabdc0

^^^ This is what I don’t get. They could afford the skull painting for the first 3 series, but not the 4th? When Sherlock seemed to be their highest grossing bit of tv? That makes zero sense.

I don't really know for sure, but if it's anything in Britain with the BBC as it is in Germany with ARD and ZDF, you can be sure that regardless of the profit that comes from a show, the BBC is obliged-by laws-not to overstep certain financial boundaries. It might not make sense to us but especially in regards of Enterainment, Non-private TV and Radio Stations have to stick to a certain pound-per-minute regardless of the success.

Helloooooo! Yes i saw it with my Mum and my aunt one lunchtime! Ahhh, do you now what. I went in thinking i was gunna dislike it. Really did. I don’t know why. But i was pleasantly surprised and really thoroughly enjoyed it!

It was just an all round great film. Emma was great. The songs were great, it flowed nicely. I liked the backstories we never got before. There were awesome bits like, when there was a shot of the castle one of the towers was made to look like Lumiere, which i was impressed with.

And to top it off. There was like, i’d say, a 5 year old who’d dressed up as Belle and ran down to the front after it ended and swirled and danced throughout the entire credits. Pic for ref, cos i died inside and she’s like a flowing yellow blur. You?

I was the same-quite sure I would not like it and enjoyed it A LOT.

Mary’s Narration

I loved it. I think it was fitting that she was the one the give the send off. I don’t know why 90% of this fandom hates it. I think it was beautiful and It made me cry more because it reminded me that she was no longer part of the Baker Street family that is raising her daughter now. She might not have mentioned Rosie but she didn’t need too. That P.S was about reminding Sherlock and her husband John, what kind of men they are and she has complete trust in them to raise her daughter with the same love, care, wisdom, strength and adventures that she would have been part of if she was still alive.

I was talking to my best friend about how bad TFP was and she said ‘how did Mycroft even lock Euros up in Sherrinford when he was like 12 in the flashbacks’ and I was like ‘shit u right’

“Uncle Rudi took care of things.”

Dude that was explained in the show … Did half of the fandom watched another version of TFP or what???

I hope you don’t mind but this needs to go bigger!!!

Apparently. It’s the same as ridiculing Mycroft for getting sick after governor’s suicide, although he was not visibly disturbed when Sherlock was beaten in S3 (completely different situation), or taking piss of John for not immediately recognizing child bone (bad light, hald-drowning, likely confused after being shot with yet another tranquilizer). I think quite a few people should watch the epsode again… and try not to be biased.

People also keep complaining about the dog bowl that was PLANTED THERE to mess with Sherlock. The kid didn’t ACTUALLY eat out of a dog bowl. :/

This. SO much this

Oh yeah the ‘victor ate out of a dogbowl’ was on my dash too …. THAT was not even worth my attention … I also had people saying 'why did nobody search for the child’… Just because it wasnt shown doesnt mean therr was no search party going on. It was not mentioned cause that would kind of give away the end.

Um *nervously* hi Tumblr.

Would it be cool if you could reblog this post if you’re a Sherlock blog who enjoyed Series 4, if you don’t fill your tags with negative stuff and isn’t basically taking every opportunity to rip the episode and series apart cos i’ve had a few messages today from people who would love to follow you. Myself included.

It’s a very simple and easy request. I’m not asking for your opinion in terms of “i liked it bUT.” We just want to know if you’re a Sherlock positive blog so we can shuffle our Tumblrs about accordingly.

We’ll check you out from reblogs and likes! Let us know! Thank you!

I love the notes on this :-)

No but here :)
