One thing that I commend about these encampment protests is how well they connected struggles foreign and domestic. Cop City was an obscure Anarchist protest for years that did not get lots of attention outside of Georgia. That’s why I will never condemn the attention the Free Palestine movement has shown us because of how interwoven it is with all of our struggles against white supremacy and colonialism in America. Never has a resistance movement given so much awareness and shined a light on so many things. They got Columbia students in New York chanting Stop Cop City. Tortuguita’s death wasn’t in vain and this movement makes me feel hopeful.

Kensington Initiative Plans

Phase One: Warning and Opportunity

This will be the introduction to the initiative, in which the PPD will partner with the various programs and City partners wishing to provide services and treatment to those experiencing addiction and housing issues along the avenue and surrounding area. This phase will serve as a warning to all who occupy this area that this will be the final opportunity to take advantage of shelter and treatment services prior to enforcement efforts that will follow Phase One.

Phase Two: Law Enforcement & The Community's Establishment Expectations

This phase is the enforcement component of this initiative and begins with a heavy police presence in the form of a narcotic initiative and warrant sweep in the immediate area. This will be a multi-day initiative that will include arrests for narcotics, prostitution, quality-of-life crimes, and other criminal acts. The PPD will document the enforcement by embedding its audio-visual teams in the operation and ensuring that all personnel assigned body-worn cameras activate their body-worn cameras. The law enforcement in Phase Two will be a focused and intense effort, requiring extensive planning and coordination with PPD partners. We anticipate that this operation will take place one to two blocks at a time, while monitoring any displacement within the surrounding area and maintaining the blocks as the operation moves forward. A highly coordinated team of City service resources and providers will need to be in the wake of the sweep to clean these areas to prepare for Phase Three.

Phase Three: Securing The Neighborhood

This phase will be the "hold" component of the initiative. In this phase, we will use resources to secure and hold the blocks cleared by the PPD and other City services. The blocks will be patrolled with police personnel and secured with equipment with the objective of not allowing the destructive, criminal behavior and nuisance activity to return. Barricades or bike racks will be employed to maintain the sidewalks and business corridors until areas are completely restored. During this hold process, the PPD will work with the local business associations to advise which business entities will occupy this corridor and have the City beautify and fortify the selected blocks by installing lighting and front fixtures of the storefront locations.

Phase Four: Community Transition

In this stage of the initiative, the blocks are handed back to the rightful owners of the community and its residents. The PPD's enforcement efforts will be executed with the explicit purpose of saving lives and restoring a neighborhood where children, families, and business owners can thrive and be safe. A major part of this phase will be the collaborative work between the City and the residents, business owners, and community at large to ensure proper funding is established so this community thrives after the PPD sweeps. We envision that this would be the time for the community to establish long-term goals for Kensington and continue to build out a strategy that grows this community.

Phase Five: Sustainability

During the last phase, the PPD will begin to redistribute police resources from this area and redirect them to other priority locations throughout the city. Based on the long-standing historical challenges with open-air drug markets in the Kensington neighborhood, the PPD is planning to augment the Kensington mini police substation along Kensington Avenue during this initiative. However, as the community transition phase concludes and improvements have been made, we will lessen staffing to minimize the appearance of continuous over-policing, while ensuring police services are maintained.

Since February 19th: Tumblr's CEO, photomatt, made a statement about predstrogen's (unfair) termination, misgendering her and threatening to call the FBI on her (archived screenshots). Then, on February 20th: he continued to harass Rita on Twitter

Following this, multiple other trans women were terminated due to their criticism of staff's and photomatt's handling of this situation, like: milf-adjacent, catgirldick, nebulaaaaaa, jammerjenny, yaoivriskaforever, 8millionsystem, trans-kitty-meow, mozzarella-firefox, rulerofpurple, gay-satan-3, catgirlpunishedshaft

On February 21st: dykemacabre accused Kara (a member of Cohost's staff) of being a pedophillic furry and a lolicon, blaming her for allowing "cub porn" on the platform, which was a lie; the site doesn't allow that, and the post was quickly proven to be intentionally misleading. After being caught, dykemacabre apologized for part of the post, but doubled down, later deactivating

On February 27th: ardourie (formerly known as neotrances, well-known transmisogynist) began harassing enemy-viv over a post about Aaron Bushnell's online identity (like his username and use of pronouns on YouTube/Reddit/Discord,) which lead to people accusing Viv of "transvestigating" Aaron's online presence (while misusing that word) and spreading lies about Viv. She deactivated due to the harassment and has stated that she won't come back

On March 8th: roadhogsbigbelly (who accused txttletale [January 10th] and Gretchen Felker-Martin [February 1st] of being pedophiles) doubled down several times while arguing with different people about "not misgendering" a trans girl (after vagueing her), while misgendering her multiple times

This happens every week

Almost every single week there is a new callout, a new harassment campaign, new anons spreading rumours/misinformation, and more people comfortably vagueing and misgendering trans women

It's not just staff and terfs

On March 25-30th: a Best Piece of Queer Media poll about Homestuck and Dykes to Watch Out For is made, and a lot of people vote for Homestuck , which leads to death threats being posted in the tags and comments of the poll, directed at Homestuck, its fans and Andrew Hussie

Following this, ardourie (Yes. ardourie again) began harassing plaidos (who had also spoken up about the death threats sent over the Best Piece of Queer Media poll, as seen above), over a Homestuck workshop she was organizing, where they were discussing the racism in Homestuck (not a "racist workshop"). plaidos also spoke about how ardourie and his friends/followers have been harassing her despite her having blocked them

I hope I don't have to keep updating this list.

On April 15th: ceaselesswatcher-98 accused several transfem bloggers of "perpetuating harassment and mass reporting campaigns, falsely branding people as TERFs, and reblogging from/being mutuals with self-admitted pedophiles (and racists)" in a 150+ page document containing screenshots of transfem bloggers who have interacted with other "problematic bloggers"

As of April 17th, myself and other people have been informed of this callout and have spoken up against the document
