Trying to balance my work schedule and take more time to do things like drawing. I am beginning to doodle up trading cards, my first being Jonathan Sims, the Archivist! I am still obsessed with the Magnus Archives and Protocol and have wanted to do fanart for some time.

I'd like to get a better photo, this one destroys a lot of the gradation of yellows and greens in the facial shades because the lighting kind of sucked. But wanted to share so I'm motivated to make more. This one is open to swap!

2.5x3.5" Bristol; ink, colored pencil, and acrylic.

POV - you're Iggy, a 24 foot all junk giant who has befriended a 6 inch tall borrower teen named Ozzy. You lost your earpiece, so you're trying to communicate with Ozzy while you search for it in the best way you know how. Ozzy is trying to be patient, but they're not a fan of being held up like this.

Iggy and Ozzy (c) Kelly Seitz, from the story Stowaway

Love these two idiots...

I am thrilled to have finished this piece! Very happy with the results!

Iggy is a scrapper, and Ozzy comes along as help to get into tight spaces his hands can't reach. Clearly this is not a successful day: being in the junkyards when the sun goes down is dangerous, even for a giant. Time to get Ozzy and make tracks before Iggy is put in the situation of defending both of their lives.

Characters and artwork copyright to Kelly Seitz. Likes and reblogs welcome but do not repost or use in any way without my direct written permission.

These two are back in my brain and I've started re-proofreading Stowaway again, and I swear I'm going to find the bravery to post this time so I am forced to continue writing.

Let's bring artist trading cards back. It's a small, low pressure trade scenario where you could either swap pre-made cards or make custom trade pieces that are approachable because of the small canvas size. Also, collectible, miniature, and could be an affordable way to collect work from favorites, and you could collect the physical cards easily because they'll ship cheaply. I see few drawbacks, and my obsession with mini things makes it that much better. You wanna do a card swap hmu! I'm going to start making some on 2.5x3.5" bristol for the hell of it.

Also, though I know some people in the arts community would scoff at me, printable digital pieces could be a thing! What a delight to print a friend's artwork to put in a collection on display ❤ accessibility in the arts is my jam. I don't care what anyone says, if I can teach someone or give them a way in, I will! Come join me at the table, you rock and are welcome!! ❤

I don't think anyone noticed when I added the finished piece to the poll, so here it is again!

This piece is ink, colored pencil, and acrylic on Rives BFK. The total dimensions of both pieces on the black mat, frame included, are 8×8"

Bidding is now open if you want to own this piece (not to mention many other amazing options this year) and also help out an awesome arts nonprofit! We will ship Potsketches like this one if someone wins remotely, though shipping fees go to the winner (they tend to be quite low for the #100 potsketches because they're small and light! Not alwaysthe case for the #200 centerpieces but those can technically ship too.)

Check it and the other Potsketch pieces out here: (link removed)

Mine already has a bid! So exciting!!

It sold for $130 USD! Pretty proud of that ❤ made a great donation.

I need to get started on another tiny room for my Potsketch this year (because I'm really enjoying this thematic run), so would you guys be so kind as to help me decide what to do next? I love all these ideas bit I'll put in a vote toward my current lean.

I don't know if I'll lean towards a particular theme for the room beyond tiny borrower/fairy, if you have an idea that might inspire feel free to comment!

Here are the first two, a pottery studio and a drawing studio.

We need a tie breaker!

Figured I'd share a WIP since you all helped me decide on the subject this year. Doing some ink work now, and will be adding pencil and some minor work with acrylic.

As a side note, I forgot how much I love doing traditional work on good paper. BFK takes ink so beautifully.

Finally finished, scanned, and ready for auction! Bidding opens this Friday if you want to support an awesome arts nonprofit!

Media: ink, colored pencil, and acrylic on Rives BFK.

The square piece is 5x5" and both are matted together in an 8x8" frame.

Work has been busy as usual and my social emotional bandwidth has been way low, but know even if we haven't talked in a long time, I still care. I lose my grasp of time often lately, but those friends I've had the absolute privilege to talk to or even just interact with are regularly on my mind, and if I get the chance to talk to you again, even if it's just simple pleasantries, I cherish that. I know my presence has often been a distant one, but I hope I can send some positive energy to all of you in the small ways I can.

I hope everyone reading this message gathers a little extra strength for tomorrow. I know it has been hard, but let's keep going together, one day at a time.

Late night posting 🌙 took me awhile to finish the written bit I made to accompany this and I didn't want to post one without the other. FYI you're going to want to zoom in close on this illustration 😆

I tried writing a reader insert story! Go meet Astrophel if you'd like and enjoy the read! This is a drabble from when Astrophel is more mature and understands a lot about people. I also really want to write him when he's young and causes lots of chaos.

Please tell me what you think! I write quite a bit but I don't share much. It wouldn't be hard to convince me though!

Morning reblog! It's my birthday 🎂 and I'd be super happy if you gave my work a look, even more ecstatic if you reblog or even comment and let me know what you think!

Wanted to add a little detail because I keep realizing you don't even see the little alien in the full image. Astrophel's details are too pretty and fun to draw okay? I couldn't crop out too much lol!

He won't hurt the little alien because as long as he's focused, he's got very selective control of his dust-formed body's density and can very precisely control every part of it. When not focused, he can be kind of a menace, but that's another story altogether.
