Pictures like this always make me laugh because the people who make them/like them/share them (which let’s face it is mostly men) like to pretend that they haven’t been doing this exact shit with all the “waves” of feminism. Ever since women started fighting for the right to vote, they painted those women as angry, selfish, violent people for having the audacity to demand to be treated like a human being. People who try to make pictures like this one just pretend that there wasn’t propaganda against women fighting for basic human rights, propaganda that is JUST LIKE THE ONE ABOVE. because it’s so much easier to paint an ugly picture of someone or something you hate instead of actually listening or try to understand. It’s so much easier to pretend you’re a better/smarter person because you don’t want things to change when your the one benefiting from it.

Edward, Duke of Windsor to his fiancée, Wallis Warfield, on the day his brother, George VI, was crowned king. The date had originally been chosen, and the preparations made, for Edward’s coronation, but his brother was crowned instead after Edward abdicated the throne to marry Wallis. (via kingedwardviii)
The chances of getting away with murder - WTF fun facts
Okay, I can’t really tell you anything about this photo, Edna is on the left, she has a dog, but rather some kind of fur in her hands (she’s also sporting it here). Then there’s this unknown guy and strange set and Charlie looking so incredibly young, it’s all so confusing. Any ideas?
Looks like Charlie Chaplin is directing Mut/Scraps for a scene in “A Dog’s Life”. Edna Purviance stands behind him.
Quite a rare photograph; a glimpse of Charlie directing!

On this day, 81 years ago, King Edward VIII unveiled and dedicated the Canadian National Vimy Memorial, in Vimy, France. The colossal monument, designed by architect Walter Seymour Allward, commemorates the many brave Canadians who fought alongside Britain, France and the US during World War I, notably at the deadly Vimy Ridge battle, saving a victory for the Allies at the cost of many, many lives in April 1917, over a century ago. It was one of the last official duties the King performed before abdicating, in December 1936.
From his autobiography. There are a couple of breathtaking stories in that!
