I ship these two beautiful idiots so hard that I made a sideblog just for them. http://how-big-howblue-how-beautiful.tumblr.com/ is my primary account. I also reblog Colepaldi, Peter and Jenna, and fanart/fics. Not a spoiler-free blog.

So the doctor has lived numerous lives on gallifrey as different variations of the child right?

So what if one of them found the tardis. Back when she was shiny and new and type 40’s were being hailed as The Next Big Thing

This pre-doctor survives long enough to get to know her and consider this machine a sentient creature, and a part of them, though they can’t quite say why, can relate to having your personhood stripped in the name of scientific advancement. They look out for her as a young entity, transform her from a type forty to The Tardis, their friend and companion, even if that name hasn’t been formed yet.

When the pre-doctor dies, the tardis is despondent, and navigating the world with no one for company but a collection of stuck up timelords- and before she knows it type 41’s are out and she’s considered old hat. She’s tossed around for a bit, going from the gallifreyan equivalent of garage sales, to antiques dealers, and finally after thousands of years, to being a museum piece.

And then, completely by chance, she gets visited by Theta on a school trip.

And she recognises him, even though he’s changed, even though he doesn’t remember her, or hell- the person she knew him as. She’s overjoyed- calls out to him in every name he used to go by, and gets,,,nothing.

And that sends up a red flag for her- something must have happened, someone must have taken his memories and left him without an entire lifespan- without his life with her. And she cannot think of what he possibly could have seen that would warrant that. But she can’t reach out to him- he wouldn’t understand- she’s stuck, delighted to see her old friend again and knowing no matter how hard she tried she couldn’t get him to give her a sideways glance.

Until Theta returns to the dusty old tardis museum in need of an escape route years later. She doesn’t think twice, throwing her doors open and letting him take the proverbial wheel. He’s lost his ability to fly her properly, but she hardly cares, doing everything she can to help.

He needs to escape, and though neither of them know why, she will not stand down and watch him die again. She will not let them take this new life without a fight.

Matt's Clara and Capaldi's Clara are obviously different and don't even try to put her down if you haven't seen the Capaldi seasons. Also fuck you for not seeing the Capaldi seasons.
