Already deeply annoyed by the prospect of Hailey being the one Voight calls as the person he loves, but I do see a way that it could lead to Upstead endgame. I am Upstead endgame until the wheels fall off, and I haven’t lost hope yet.

And not to wish any more trauma on our poor girl, but I do think it’s worth noting that the storyline could have been far more compelling if Hailey had been taken instead. Her calling Jay as the person she loves (assuming the man remembers how to answer a phone) and that being what sparks their reunion would’ve been 🤌🏼

I can’t tell if it was their intention for us to see the details as nods to Jay or not, but I will say I enjoyed the comedy of it all. What concerns me most is that I was more okay with the possibility of him being the serial killer than I have been of what they’ve done so far. A true case of:
