Taeil: The universe is against you. All day you’ve been going to take Taeil’s hand in your own but each time he either starts walking again or goes to inspect something from a nearby stall. You can’t blame him for it, he doesn’t realise your efforts. Your eyes linger on other couples, hands clasped together as they look at trinkets and nick-knacks. You’re so focused on formulating a plan to hold Taeil’s hand that you don’t see the cyclist making a beeline for you until you hear Taeil call your name. You’re pulled back from the edge of the road only to be brought face to face with a concerned Taeil. “Are you okay?” It’s then you notice he’s clasped both your hands with his own, squeezing them reassuringly. “Yeah, I’m fine.”

Taeyong: “Remind me again why you wanted to watch a horror movie?” You whisper to your boyfriend who is currently hiding behind his hand, trying to sink into the plush seats of the movie theatre. Honestly, he didn’t think the movie would be that bad, and he’d have an excuse to get closer to you. However, Johnny clearly lied about how scary the movie actually was and now Taeyong is terrified. He flinches as some demonic child jumps out of nowhere on the screen, your question long forgotten. “We can leave if you want to.” You offer and he nods in defeat. It’s dark when you leave the theatre and you can see his eyes jumping everywhere as you walk together towards your apartment. There’s a rustling from a nearby alley and Taeyong jumps out of his skin, grabbing onto your arm in shock. A racoon makes itself known and Taeyong relaxes, still latched onto you. He slips his hand into yours, linking your fingers together. “For safety,” he says.  

Doyoung: He has this dumb smile on his face as he stares at you from across the table. The fluorescent lights illuminate his intense gaze and suddenly you feel self-conscious. “What are you staring at?” You finally ask him. He lets out a small chuckle, leaning his elbows on the table to move closer to you. “I’m staring at you. I thought that was obvious.” You can see his cheeks and ears blush and you’re amazed that even in his embarrassed state he still finds time to tease you. He suddenly extends his hand to you expectantly but you just look at it in confusion. You’d already paid for the bill so you weren’t sure what he wanted. “Do you need something?” “Give me your hand.” Confused you place your hand in his, palm up. He huffs in fake annoyance before flipping your hand and clasping it with his own. “I wanted to hold your hand. I thought that was obvious.”

Ten: As soon as you arrive at the fair, he’s buzzing with excitement. His first mission, he tells you as he begins striding off, is to get snacks. You have to run to catch up with him and make sure you don’t lose him in the crowd. Once you both have your candy floss he starts looking around with bright eyes for a ride to try out. You’re looking in the opposite direction so he taps your shoulder for your attention. He points up to the pirate ship and you can hear the screams coming from the ride. “C’mon let’s try that one!” He clasps your hand in his before weaving his way towards the ride, pulling you after him.

Jaehyun: “I don’t know why I’m so nervous.” He admits, huffing slightly with embarrassment. You place a comforting hand on his shoulder in attempts to ease his nerves. “It’ll be over quickly.” You assure him, waiting for the doctor to finish preparing the needle. As the doctor finds a vein, Jaehyun’s hand clings to your own. He squeezes it tightly, before loosening his grip on you. He mumbles an apology but you just stroke the back of his hand with your thumb. “It’s okay.”

Mark: The humidity of the air clings to your skin, flushing your cheeks from the heat as you leave the convenience store with your boyfriend, Mark. The white bag of goodies swings from his hand as you walk in silence. It’s a comfortable silence allowing you to lose yourself in thought. It’s not until his finger grazes the back of your hand that you realise how close he is to you. You ignore the brief connection only for it to happen again, causing you to glance curiously at him. His face is downcast, gaze focusing on your hand and you suddenly understand. “If you wanted to hold my hand you could have asked.” You say as you intertwine your fingers with his.

Taeil: …sits on the mantle piece of your home. Whenever he walked through the living room his eyes flick to the photo of you on your wedding day. You’re surrounded by your party - friends, family and the like. Your grin looks like it might break your face you look so happy. He can’t help but smile back at it. 

Johnny: …reminds him of how lucky he is. You’re clad in a green t-shirt that you’d bought specially for the occasion. You’re head to toe in NCT gear. A Cap, a necklace, earrings you bought off etsy. Your lightstick illuminates your smile with a neon glow. “always supporting my man” was the caption you used on the snapchat. He grins, looking at it before going on stage, getting the energy to go and give his best performance yet.

Taeyong: …is a selfie he took with you on one of your recent dates. It was a simple picnic date and he had wanted to capture the moment. Blossoms were in the trees and a smile was plastered on his face as he took the picture. He wasn’t expecting the wet smack of your lips on his cheek as the shutter sounded on his phone. Your nose is scrunched, a smile tugging at the sides of your mouth as his eyes widen in shock, the hint of a grin still on his features. He made it is his phone background immediately. 

Yuta: …is for his eyes only. He thought he was being so sly when he took the photo. You’re washing dishes in nothing but your underwear, back turned to him as you scrub furiously at the frying pan in front of you. You turned your head to call for him only to see him leaning on the doorframe. The picture shows your eyes lighting up seeing him there. (There’s a photo taken immediately after, you noticed the phone. You weren’t impressed.)

Doyoung: …is from when you were fifteen years old. You’re making a fool of yourself with your friends after school. You had forgotten it was even on facebook until Doyoung texted the photo to you one day. He finds any excuse to send it to you because he loves to tease you. But secretly he thinks the photo is the cutest thing - your head thrown back in laughter looking so cute and young.  

Ten: …was taken by Jaehyun. A group of you had gone for a meal, on a warm day allowing you to sit outside and make the most of the pleasant weather. The two of you are giggling over something Ten can’t remember now. Your hand covers your mouth cutely while you laugh, leaning into him. His eyes are looking at you with admiration as he laughs with you.

Jaehyun: …makes him feel guilty. It’s a selfie you posted of you and a friend on holiday somewhere hot two years ago. Your skin is glowing, your smile is radiant, and your eyes glisten gently. His eyes flick to your friend in the picture with you and the pang of guilt sets in his stomach. They had confessed to you that holiday, your friend. His own friend as well actually. The two of you had been together since. 

Winwin: …is hard to choose. Every picture of you is his favourite. Whether its a selfie you’ve taken just after you’ve woken up. If you’re all dressed up ready to go out with friends. If you’re pulling an ugly face in the background of a friends photo. Every picture of you either makes his chest swell or makes him laugh. Every photo of you is his favourite.
