Whumper is feared, angry, ruthless. The room falls quiet at their entrance, followed by whispers in their leave. Their patience is as thin as ice as they criticize their henchmen’s every muscle movement.

-Until they capture whumpee and hold them hostage…

Whumper finds them fascinating and falls rather smitten. Their cruel and snappy behavior stops the second whumpee’s dragged in, as they resume orders in a calm, patient manner with their eyes constantly darting to see if whumpee’s still watching.

Half the room just stops and stares in unblinking confusion when they suddenly start being ‘‘nice.’’

Whumper sprinted down the alleyway, desperately trying to heave in breathes as they ran. It felt as if they'd been running for hours on end.

They made it around the last turn only to be met with by a the cold metal tip of a gun pressing against their forehead. They froze.

"Where are you off to little mouse?"

It was then that Whumpee's whole body gave up. They collapsed to their knees with a sob. Tears streaming down their face as tejir body fully shook with sobs.

There was truly no escape from Whumper.

Short Prompt #678

CW: character was beaten up & left for dead.

"Well…, what do we have here?" - one of the gang members mumbled, cautiously approaching the silent body resting against the alley wall. Their buddies were right behind them, weapons at the ready. "Hey. You alive?"

A choked groan was their only response. The injured whumpee sucked in a pained breath, managing to open one of their eyes. "…Hrgh…?"

"Oh, good." - the gang member said, casually crouching down beside them. "Don't know who you pissed off, but want me to finish the job?"

Whumpee croaked out a sob. "N-No…, plea-se…"

"Hmm… Want some help then?"

The whumpee seemed hesitant but muttered out a quiet, "Y-Yes…"

"Alright then. This is gonna cost you later though just so you know." - they responded before carefully picking Whumpee up into a bridal carry. "The name's Caretaker, by the way. Let's get you cleaned up, eh, pretty?"

Defensive

Someone lightly claps the whumpee on the back, and before they know it, they've got them pinned against a wall, wrists twisted painfully behind their back.

Cue the awkward realisation that it's just the whumpee's friend, and what the hell are they doing hurting them, as they gingerly letting go of said friend who rubs their wrists in confusion, and gives the whumpee a concerned look.

Because what the hell happened to them to make them react to a light touch like that?
