i think spending years on tumblr surrounded by the most critically unhinged minds on earth has impacted me in ways i dont even want to acknowledge. but on the plus side its all really funny

I need to get out of here I have never made any type of post like this and it’s going to be long and annoying but I just can’t fucking take this anymore. I’m Sophie, I am a 19 year old latina girl who has been living with an abusive man double my age for the last couple of years after running away. I feel trapped here and I have no means to leave safely at all. I’m mentally ill and on disability which doesn’t leave me with any room to get away from him and he is extremely controlling even when it comes to money and what I should have to owe him for living with him. I have no family to lean on and the friends I did have, he has cut me off completely from them. He’s smashed my phone when he got paranoid leaving me with nothing and no one. He monitored my phone and my social media so I have had to make separate accounts to try and hide him from seeing what I post. Not only that but he is racist, he hates women, believes in white supremacy, thinks that all girls should only be with men and give themselves to men whether they want to or not.. it just goes on and on and never stops. He always talks about genocide, thinks women ask for too much, ect. He has actually gone to jail in the past for assault. He threatens me with violence if I don’t do the things he asks for all the time and my mental health has gone downhill since I came here. There are so many things that have happened that I can’t even talk about. I am always being taken advantage of, threatened, manipulated into sex, into giving him money, just so that I won’t be out on the streets with no where to go. This type of life is making me want to kill myself if I can’t get a change soon but I am terrified of the thought of leaving him. I want to get a restraining order so that he can’t come after me, but if I do that I will have no place to live because I can’t afford the apartment I live in if he’s not here. I need help getting out. There is no way I can afford to pay a deposit, pet fee, and first months rent on a cheaper apartment with the income and type of life I have right now. He knows about how much money I bring in a month, and with my bills and everything I have very little. I know what I need is a lot, my goal is around $500 dollars even though that won’t begin to cover it, I don’t expect much help at all. Even a couple dollars I have that I can hide from him will hopefully add up. I was at risk of being homeless when I met him because of leaving my family. I thought that because he had issues too that he was a good person at heart but I can’t take the way that he treats me anymore, it has only gotten worse. If you don’t believe me, or think I shouldn’t be asking for this kind of help or think this is all my fault just block me. I have had too many people act like I am over exaggerating or that I’m crazy. He will reblog your pictures and attach a disgusting and usually degrading caption to them, please do yourself a favour and block him. He will most likely steal multiple pictures if he can, so it’s best to block him before he can steal more or steal them at all. His followers will harass you also, it is very very annoying and not worth the hassle.
Spread the word to any of your friends who post selfies or any form of body pictures. You all deserve better.

- first and only near death experience was when he almost choked on one of lily’s fake eyelashes (long story) - knows all the words to every song from mulan but only when he’s drunk (he wakes up the morning after crying because he wants so badly to sing i’ll make a man out of you but he can’t remember how it goes) - once wrote an entire essay whilst sitting in a tree because he didn’t want to admit he was stuck up there - can’t pronounce g’s on the end of words

- forgets that it’s not socially acceptable to walk about the house completely naked - genuinely gets jealous when remus sees a cat on the street and pays it more attention than him - literally fishes for compliments 24/7 and doesn’t even try to be subtle about it (”my hair looks nice today doesn’t it? DOESN’T IT? yea that’s what i thought”) - will only pay attention in a class/lecture if someone gives him sweets to eat during it

- thought aslan was a character from the hobbit and got really angry when she watched the first movie and there was no mention of aslan in it - the most pain she’s ever experienced was when she tried to recreate the lift from dirty dancing with sirius on a drunken night out and ended up throwing herself head first into a wall - gets really defensive when people tell her cardigans are lame because “THEY’RE SO FUCKING PRACTICAL” - genuinely thinks pokemon is called “pokey man”

On January 14, 2014, Gregory Vaughn Hill Jr., a 30-year-old black father of three, was fatally shot by a white sheriff’s deputy in St. Lucie County, Florida. The deputy was responding to a noise complaint about music coming from Hill’s garage.
Four years later, a federal jury has determined that Hill was largely responsible for his own death, awarding the man’s family just $4 in a wrongful death lawsuit.
“It’s heartbreaking,” Hill’s fiancée, Monique Davis, told the New York Times. “There are a lot of questions I want to ask.”
The decision is the culmination of a two-year legal battle for the family. Officers have claimed that Hill was armed at the time of the shooting; while a gun was recovered from the scene, it was found unloaded in Hill’s back pocket. In 2016, Hill’s mother, Viola Bryant, filed a lawsuit arguing that the deputy had violated Hill’s constitutional rights. The New York Times notes that the case also asked the jury to determine if the family was owed damages and, if so, what amount they should receive.
The jury determined that $4 — $1 to Hill’s mother for funeral expenses and $1 for each of Hill’s three children — would be enough. The decision came after hours of jury deliberations, and the amount was so small because the jury ruled that Hill, who was intoxicated at the time of the shooting, was mostly responsible for his death.
While the jury ruled that the deputy who shot Hill did not use excessive force, it did find that the county sheriff had been “slightly negligent.” But because the jury found the sheriff responsible for only 1 percent of the incident, the department will only be required to pay 1 percent of the settlement, which comes out to 4 cents.
