I’m not going to lie, the last few weeks haven’t been easy. To go from almost two years living in a constant state of motion to stagnant, well it’s been a challenge for my mind. It’s exactly what I need, but it’s still a massive transition. Tonight I walked home and couldn’t let the beautiful day go to waste. I decided I would run up a quick summit by myself and watch the sunset. It was exactly what my soul needed to remind me of why I chose Bozeman in the first place. I’ll always be a nomad at heart, and it’s a process on learning how to balance that heart with a home base. http://ift.tt/2Co5snA

Let’s talk about this “holiday” for a second. Well, besides the fact that it’s pointless, it’s actually a great opportunity to reflect on self love. Whether you’re in a relationship or single today, practice loving yourself (unless you’re a narcissist, then maybe try someone else today 😉). The last two years I’ve dedicated so much time to learning how to love myself, and all of my flaws. I believe that we can’t truly love someone else until we have already done it to ourselves. Love isn’t confined to romantic love; love your friends, love your family, and of course, love yourself. To me, travel is so much more than just a list to check off. It’s not found in how many countries we visit. Travel isn’t found in a guide book, or on some top ten list on the internet. Travel is found in the soul. It’s found in the people you meet when you least expect, but impact your life in ways you need. It’s tucked into back alley coffee shops on cobblestone streets and on top of mountains we don’t even know the name of. Travel isn’t something that can be truly captured in words, photos, or videos. You have to see it for yourself, so just go! http://ift.tt/2nYlqk5

Shortly after quitting my job a few years ago I found myself in Meteora, Greece for a week. I didn’t really know what I was doing with my life at the time, but watching the sunset here made me realize I was right where I needed to be. Looking back on this place, it still doesn’t seem real. http://ift.tt/2EXTfsD

Missing summer ass-kickin summits on this brutally cold day in Montana. Also only @mariahkan can pull off the model look after 7.5 miles and 5K in elevation gain. http://ift.tt/2EvLIDx

We spend so much of our lives comparing ourselves to other people, not taking the time to see just how far we’ve come. I fall victim to this as much as anyone, always striving to be better and do better. Had a good conversation with a buddy tonight that just reminded me to take a step back and realize that I’m living the dream I set out to live so long ago. I’ll never stop being hard on myself, but I wouldn’t be where I am without that drive. Stop comparing and start living, my friends. http://ift.tt/2ES9mYz

Excited to be heading back to Banff in March for some ice climbing, fat biking, snowshoeing, and Tim Hortoning thanks to my friends at @adventure.travel_ and @travelalberta. Although I wish this lady and her pup were joining, maybe I reconnect with some of my favorite Canadian sugas. http://ift.tt/2EPqeiK

I’m often asked if I plan to go back to Havasupai, and I honestly don’t think I ever will. Not because my experience was bad, but because it was so pure and perfect that I’d hate to ruin that memory. Due to heading down in the dead of winter and during a winter storm warning, three friends and myself had the entire campground to ourselves. This is a campground that can see up to a thousand people in the summer, but for us it was abandoned. http://ift.tt/2nQTDRs

I started photographing this barn when I was in college. I photographed it so many times in every season, but it never got old. The road I take to get here has become almost routine, and a feeling of Home. I used to sleep in my car just a few miles away from here and once almost succumbing to hypothermia there as well. This sight will never get old, and I don’t care how many photos you’ve seen of this old barn. http://ift.tt/2DMeTTl

Spent the weekend in a forest service cabin with 9 of the raddest humans to walk this Earth (and five rad puppers too). We summitted Mountains (me, three times because I kept forgetting things on the summit 🤦🏼‍♂️), danced around campfires, played games, laughed until we cried, and maybe shed a few tears for our livers too. Four twin beds was seen as an opportunity and not a problem for the 10 of us as we pushed the beds together for a cuddle puddle. I’m damn grateful for these weirdos I call friends! Check the group shot over on @andyandthevan! #electriccabin #bozemansugas #kulikcampout #hellyeah🤙 http://ift.tt/2BAOx0v

Quick summits with some of the best people (and pups) around yesterday. My backyard is pretty damn awesome. http://ift.tt/2DyikMr
