...you do know nobody is seriously going to use er/ihm/sein for you right? at this point you're just making a mockery of actual trans struggles.

er/ihm/sein is german for he/him/his dumbass

hey while we're reblogging this post i just want everyone to know that this post, while funny, shows a genuinely worrying trend in the trans community. while everyone is so furious about neopronouns, you are actively excluding people whose languages do not use the standard american/westernized pronoun sets of he/him or she/her or they/them. like, as funny as it is that someone genuinely could not tell the difference between neopronouns and non-english pronouns, i do genuinely think it fucking sucks that i can't even have my own goddamn languages pronouns in my bio without getting told i'm a mockery of ''actual trans struggles'', when i myself am a trans person.

so this European clothing retailer decided to advertise their jean cuts on youtube and it's unintentionally the funniest shit I've seen today. why? well.

now important context here: in German, die (pronounced 'dee') is just a feminine article, it literally means "the".

but if an ad gets placed in the middle of an English video and doesn't use a single explicitly German word for most of the ad, even a native speaker is gonna think "they want me to die how?" it keeps getting funnier.

I mean, holy shit

i will use these as reaction images until i die

The EU is doing a big survey for LGBTQ people who live in the EU about how it is for them right now. That's the kind of survey that's used for official reports and for laws so it's super important that it has as many people taking it as possible. You can take it in every EU language. (You can change the language in the top right corner) Share it with your friends!

Here's some more context on this (from the EU agency for Fundamental Rights), including a link-through to a release about the results of the previous survey. If you're in the EU (plus Albania, Serbia and North Macedonia), it looks well worth participating.
