Ichabod hummed. He leaned forwards into her. His hands moving up to cup her face. When they broke apart he grinned. “I’m enjoying it too.” He tells her. “Very much.” He smiled. Ichabod cherished his alone time with Laurette.
“This is nice.” He tells her, his fingers playing with her hair. “I haven’t felt…this happy in a very long time. I mean. I’m happy, here, teaching. I’ve just…felt very alone. So thank you for helping me with that.”

“Good.” She smiled back at him. “I like seeing that smile on your face.” It was stating the obvious that he was beautiful when he smiled, and that he deserved to smile. Laurette was grateful to be part of it.

She hummed softly in agreement. “You’re welcome.” She hated that he felt alone, she intended to make sure he never felt that way again. “Thank you for showing me that it’s okay to trust.. it’s okay to be happy.”

CLAY

Clay stopped the ring bouncing on the counter and picked it up. It made him sick to look at. Of course it stung but if it was something she wanted, Clay had her back completely. But looking at her - it was plain as day to him that she didn’t want this. That’s why he felt his blood boiling.
“Like an arranged marriage? What fucking century is this?” He set it down and moved over to her. “You’re not a princess, you don’t have to go through with it right?” Clay wiped away the flour on her face and the oncoming tears.
“Hey, you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to, Red.. We can fight this, I’m kind of good at that remember?”

Roxanna let out a breath. It honestly felt good to tell someone. Someone that she trusted. Clay was her best friend. His opinions on things meant more to her than anyone elses. “Yeah. Exactly like that.” She nodded.
The girl looked down. “I told her no. She told me that she’d stop funding the Diner. Leave it to her to blackmail her own granddaughter.” More tears filled her eyes. “That place is everything to my mother. It’s all she has left of her Nana. She met my dad there.” Roxanna’s lip trembled.
She looked at him and moved closer. “I know what I want…and it’s not a loveless marriage with someone who I could never truly be myself around.” She shook her head and looked up at him.

“Do the boys know yet?” He imagined they’d be as livid as he was. They all protected Roxanna, the Merry kids were a family. “She’ll stop funding the diner, seriously?” Clay never liked the woman, he was certain the feeling was mutual. “The diner isn’t going anywhere, okay? We’ll find a way.”

He met Roxy there. He remembered that she was kind to him, the only Auradonian that had been without ulterior motives. He tried pie for the first time and she fed him cookies. He was grateful he had walked into the diner that day.

“You deserve everything you want, okay?” Clay wrapped his arms around her. “You, the diner, it’s all going to be safe. I promise.”

Harmonia looked at Adrestia, then looked at her sister through the mirror. Making sure that all the natural lighting looked correctly. That she wouldn’t look too dolled up. After all, that wasn’t like her sister. “Douchey guys, hmm? Well. Mortal douchey guys I guess can be an exception.” There was more to the story, she could sense it. But she also wouldn’t pry. “Mom might be proud, she’ll go, ‘Oh! Adrestia! Look at you. Finally acting like a girl! Not like your father!’ You know?” She mocked her mother’s tone of voice, hoping to even bring slight light to the situation. “I just… hope you’re alright. I know you obviously but, still.”

“Why can’t we go back to the days where people would be turned to stone or simply slain for speaking out of line?” The younger goddess huffed. Especially speaking against a goddess -- the one of harmony that is, say what you will about the goddess of revolt. Harmonia’s impression of their mother made her chuckle though she winced as it put strain on her injury. “You sound just like her, that’s very impressive. I don’t know what’s so wrong with acting like father, though he’s just as obsessed with his looks.. just not changing them.” Their father was complicated, loved the outside and hated the inside. “I’m alright, I’ve had far worse than this. It won’t be the last time I get into a fight. That’s my duty to fulfill, revolt and retribution and all that.”

The subject of Artemis passed in his eyes. He didn’t want to talk about the dramatic ass hopelessness of it all. That wasn’t his focus right now. It was to feed and make sure Treat didn’t do anything too stupid. Which happened more often than he would’ve liked. Trick didn’t take anything Treat said personally. After all, “We got super speed? Whoa. Didn’t realize that, Einstein. But, we gotta blend in. I ain’t need to cause any trouble tonight, just some hidden trouble. Don’t wanna run up full speed.” He turned to move towards the car. “Besides, don’t ya wanna bring some food to go?”
ImageImage

“Shut the fuck up.” Treat smirked at his sarcasm, not even taking it the slightest bit personally. She annoyed her twin and she knew it, she reveled in it at times. “Blending in, not causing trouble, you really are no fun nowadays - I thought you were running with the OG’s, don’t tell me they’ve gone soft too.” Treat opened the car door and got in, fully rolling her eyes more. “Are you allowed to bring food to go? Do your new handlers allow that?” She pouted.

Fleur bit her lip. That made sense. Maybe it was a good thing that humans couldn’t turn off their humanity. There were some humans, like her father. Who she thought didn’t have such a thing. When they had learned about him in class. What he had done to Rufio and to Beau. It broke Fleur’s heart. It also scared her. “I try to be good. People say that I am. Too good sometimes. To the point of finding me annoying, but I still feel like I’m not good enough.” She shook her head.
“I don’t wanna push him. I know that there’s other things he’s focused right now.” Fleur looked down. “I respect that.” She nodded. “It’s not like there’s a line of people wanted to date me.” She smiled. “It’s ok. Whatever happens is meant to happen.” She nodded.
She chuckled. “I don’t think I’ll have to do that. She raised good boys.” Fleur said softly. The fairy looked up at the vampire. “Sorry it I’m bothering you. I was nice to talk to someone though. My mom is busy a lot of the time.” Fleur tells him.

“Let me fill ya’ in on a little secret. Bad people, really fucked up vile and evil monsters.... they ain’t worried about whether or not they hurt people. They ain’t tryin’ to be good. Yet here you are not even tellin’ a boy ya’ fancy him cause yer’ worried about pushin’ him - so does that actually make ya’ as bad as ya’ think ya’ are?” Lock looked at her. “There ain’t such thing as good enough, the world ain’t that black and white but take it from someone who has seen several villains, myself included, yer’ not even close.”

He didn’t know if his words were any comfort, he was just being honest. He wasn’t trying to comfort in the first place. “I ain’t really seein’ how you bein’ honest is pushin’ him - honestly he probably knows. I know how his ma’ was with her powers, they do it even when they ain’t meanin’ to.” The vampire shrugged.

“Yer’ fine, I doubt I’m much comfort.”

“Fine. I appreciate you for keeping me alive.” He tells him as he reached down and picking up a fry. He popped one into his mouth. “You and my dad have that in common.” He smirked.
“You got a point there. So no bartending and no bussing.” He sighed. “Maybe I should become a writer or something.” He shrugged. “I guess I’m just starting to feel a bit useless.” He sat back. “To think. At one point I was supposed to be a King.”
ImageImage

“You’re welcome.” Barrel mused. “Gross, don’t compare me t’yer’ pyscho pops.” He chuckled. “I ignore ya’ cause I’m busy not cause I hate ya’ or that I’m a piece of shit, me bein’ a piece of shit is separate.” He smirked.

“Do ya’ want to try the bartendin’? We can have ya’ make mocktails.” He shrugged. “You’s ain’t useless, people love when ya’ play. And ya’ put Shock in a betta’ mood which is beneficial to us all.” He chuckled. “Did ya’ wanna be King anyways? I seen what it does to Jack and I ain’t ever thought a deadman could be tired.”

The day Thea and Well’s parents passed, everything changed. Their life went from parties, loving households, late night slumber parties in one of the living rooms to complete an absolute hell. He finally understood from unfortunate first account why Mr. Dread never wanted to introduce them to his side of the family.
“Mausoleum? You’re kidding, right?” Finnick obviously would do whatever it took to get the hell outta this place. “I can go under the tunnels when I’m not working. More eyes are on you two. I want to make sure you’re safe. I don’t know what I’d do if anything happen to you..” Finnick said softly with a short smirk. They grew up together; they had to get through this together safely.

The only comforts from their old life they had was each other. That’s why she was so determined to save this family while she still had. His objections made Forsythia sigh at first and she gave him a look. “I am aware that it is vile and dark and gloomy but that makes it the perfect place.”

They had to get out of town as quickly as possible without getting caught or they’d be returned and face worse punishment. “I can cover you with false tasks that you could be doing so they do not suspect anything.” She stated. She was certain they would not question a servant doing service. “Oh Finnick, you worry too much.” She smirked back. “I promise that I will be alright. You take care of your own safety, I don’t know what I would do if anything happened to you either.” It made her ill to think about.

“You should get that tattooed somewhere.”
ImageImage

Treat smirked and rolled up her sleeve to show the tattoo that said that very same phrase. “Tada.” She chuckled. “It’s my family’s motto. It basically means, good luck and don’t fuck it up cause no one is going to miss you if you die.”

Roxanna leaned against the counter and closed her eyes. Her body ached. She was mentally and physically exhausted. Between exams and graduation. The bomb her grandmother dropped on her made her want to runway and never look back.
She reached into her apron pocket and pulled out a ring. The sight of it made her stomach flip and not in a good away. She tossed it on the counter. “My grandmother went and accepted and proposal on my behalf, to a guy I’ve never met before. A prince.” Tears filled her eyes.
“All I wanna do is disappear. This isn’t what I want. I want-” She looked at him and sighed. “To make my own choice.”

The warlock had stopped dead in his tracks. The sight of the girl made his heart skip a beat. Everything about her was the same, down the the white hair. He nearly called out her name but he didn’t. This wasn’t Avery. He knew that she was gone. She was someone though. Evan was well educated in the world on the supernatural. He knew that sometimes people shared faces with other even though there was no relation to one another.
When she spoke that’s when the sadness hit but he faded quickly. “Oh…sorry. You just look like my daughter. It’s uncanny.” He said softly, his voice breaking slightly.
ImageImage

Wendy was sure at first it was someone recognizing her. But she felt that paranoia with everyone for a very very long time. She heard his heart basically stutter and she was curious what he was seeing from his perspective. It made the alpha worry slightly when she could smell the sadness washed over him, but it was gone just as quick as it came. The way his voice broke made her sad.

“It’s okay..” She nodded. “Your daughter, she’s not around is she?” She had to figure considering he was sad about seeing her face, not just confused.
