i think straight up one of my favorite set pieces in all of homestuck is the chamber at the core of the battlefield where the tumor sits. where there's these stone tiles on the walls demarcating the aspects and lunar sways of the players of the session. a place that might have had another vitally important purpose in a proper session maybe

fuck rich living rosemary. rose and kanaya both grew up completely alone with the nearest people being miles away they would hate that.

they actually get an apartment in a busy city so that they can be surrounded by the sounds of living people at all times and feel comforted in closeness rather than completely isolated. fuck their house being clean too, that apartment is a goddamn DISASTER. every surface is covered with random trinkets they picked up from the market, every wall completely covered in decorations. rose’s 500 abandoned art projects are scattered about and shoved into corners when she didn’t need them and kanaya’s fabric is stacked up anywhere she can fit it. art supplies everywhere. kitchen a disaster from failed cooking attempts. cozy blankets and seating arrangements in every room. a hovel they actually enjoy.

it is not hyperbole to say that homestuck changed the landscape of what an online webcomic could be. conversely, even if homestuck 2 were to be uploaded and broadcast out via a computer screen the size of the fucking swiss alps, it would still have a difficult time changing any landscapes

these two gifs always entrance me.. the ways she physically picks the card like it is a leaf on a tree, and that makes it just Turn Into the item. like this is a physical thing in space she is interacting with

and then the way the cord stays attached across the two cards with the hub and the laptop like that as they both move around. so fucking cool to me i love early homestuck i love sylladex shit

Gamzee does something similar where he reaches into his Sylladex to grab a card out, avoiding the randomness of his Fetch Modus.

One of my personal favourite Sylladex interactions is with Karkat's Encryption Fetch Modus, with which you can't actually carry items around, and he accidentally captchalogues an encrypted card inside another encrypted card.

the rule of fandoms is that if someone has a character in their url or bio they either understand that character well enough to give a 3 hour unscripted lecture on the subject OR they're really obsessed with their version of that character thats an entirely different made up guy. and theres literally never an in between
