for every “⏳” i receive, my muse will openly talk about a bit of their backstory. || OPEN
“Not every great mind comes from a rich place or from privilege, not every terrible person comes from a terrible place. Anyone is capable of doing terrible things,” That was something necessary to address to one of the ‘children’ of his ultimate creation. A technical grandchild of sorts, but knowing Gero, he would never consider the relations real. Only property, credit, something his mind created.
“I was in a middle class home. We weren’t rich, we weren’t poor. My parents were incredibly strict and had high expectations, I have a younger brother ten years my junior, Wheelo, and he had just as much expectations on him as I did.”
He never spoke of his brother often, or of his parents, but even then he felt nothing as he spoke of them. Years of disassociating from them tended to do that to someone like Gero.
“Our mother favored him, our father favored myself. We were often pitted against each other, compared to each other, and I had to be the one to behave, to set an example for him and I never really had my own life to live. My father set me on the path he wanted, he wanted me to become a doctor, he chose out the wife he wanted me to have when I was only fifteen,” He frowns.
“I fled with my brother, we found our own home, we chose what we wanted to do and we never spoke to our parents again after that. My brother and I grew close, almost inseparable but I married the woman of his affections and we grew cold to each other. We were never malicious to each other, but we were never the same.”
Gero does not know the fate of Wheelo, nor did he ever seek him out as his career grew. He doesn’t know what his younger brother did, he never will.
“I had twins, and decades later, I was the best in each field I studied in. My talents were sought out by a man named Red, and I soon became a valued researcher in his army and my son wanted to join me in the Red Ribbon Army. My daughter, I don’t know what happened to her, I grew too absorbed in my work and I suppose that’s what caused them to..”
Gero’s face grows cold and he becomes silent for a moment.
“That’s all that needs to be said.”
