Being apart for two weeks made your heart ache, you missed him every second. When you looked around in your apartment, every single thing reminded you of him: the empty crystal ash-tray on the coffee table, the pack of cigarettes on the nightstand, his shirts, the bottle of rum you shared on special occasions and his yellow aviator sunglasses he inadvertently forgot home when he left.
• Fantasy *
You squeeze under the desk and listen to their conversation. Javier’s voice is composed and authoritative and you hear him gasp when your hand accidentally brushes against his thigh, grazing the fabric of his pants. You want to retrieve it, but are taken by surprise when he laces his fingers with yours and keeps them firm in his grip, leaving your hand right where it is.

The bell rings, breaking the silence of your apartment, and you smile to yourself knowing who’s gonna be waiting outside in the corridor.

The first notes of the song made him giggle, and he covered his face with both hands as you climbed back on the bed and encouraged him to stand up. He threw the comforter to the side and stood up, hands immediately reaching for your sides as you swayed to the song with wobbly feet, sinking into the mattress.
Fifteen minutes in, you were already regretting your decision to make Frankie choose the movie. You had already witnessed two murders and a whole lot of splatter.
As you remove it from his head, you notice something tucked into the internal rim, where the fabric touches his forehead…
