So there finally, actually been so POSITIVE DEVELOPMENT in the banana boat saga for anyone who cares! She hasn't even been at the shop for two weeks and they're almost done with her. I wish I'd done this months ago.

I really do think the phone number was dad going "HEY ASSHOLE!" 😂

Lads, I AM SO FUCKIN READY 😤 Hopefully in about a month I'll be back to driving my banana boat on the regular! Gonna make some more calls tomorrow and get all my ducks in a row!

Another update, including a pretty cool exchange with my friend the day I took the cleaning supplies down and gave her some TLC, and had a moth hanging around.

But we're getting there, slowly but surely!

So it's been a good while since I updated, but my timing belt snapped a couple months back and, since first gen Xterras have interference engines, it took the whole goddamn engine with it. Luckily my uncle has a shop about 4 miles out from where she broke down, so he came, strapped her to his truck and put it in neutral, and had his son steer her there.

I took a mental step back from the whole mess for a couple of months to weigh my options (because getting the engine in my nanner replaced or finding another decent used vehicle would both cost about the same). Sentimental vs practical, how much I'd already sunk into the nanner, etc.

But yesterday, I finally gave him the go-ahead to order me a replacement engine and start that whole repair process. He found a nice one with only 113k miles (pretty good for an '04) and the high-end estimate on everything, out the door, is $4800, but he said they can probably cut out a few hours of labor since he's been at it for 20+ years. A couple more paychecks and I can probably pay him outright, but I'll be taking him $3k to Friday so he can buy the engine. Til then, he's having LKQ reserve it for him.

So HOPEFULLY after all this shit, I can FINALLY go get it inspected and legal and put all this shit behind me, and start saving back up.

Got the new muffler put on though 😂

Still toying around with the thought of offering two or three slots for traditional com/m/issi/ons. Maybe $/20 a pop for trading card size, maybe $/50 a pop for a 5x7, would also ship the physical piece through the post 🤔

The bf bought me a whole ass ps4 so we can play some games together that don't support crossplay. It's mostly been Elden Ring and Fallout 76 for the time being, but if anyone wants to add me on PSN, my screen name is the usual chibikinesis 💚
