 rebellions are built on hope

in the early stages of the galatic empire rebellions are being formed to oppose their rule. with rumors of a massive weapon being made the rebels are being dispatched to halt the tyranny of the imperial domination. at the heart of the rebellion are groups of men and women, scarred in their own way by approaching war and possible defeat, all willing to sacrifice everything for the dream of peace. the fate of the galaxy, of peace all hangs on the shoulders of a group of mismatched rebels who all have one thing in mind - hopeful victory.

Hello to all in the verse, this is Mandee and I’m playing both Kim and Jyn. I will be at work for pretty much the entire day but I’ll be on chat (on this blog and my non-verse related blog @spiritfound ) if you want to start plotting for interactions with either Jyn or Kim ( @pinkrangerr ). Provided I’m not wiped out from my shift today, I’ll be physically on a computer in the late evening (around midnight cst) and be able to post replies/starters at that time. Anyway, I look forward to interacting with all of you! ^_^

ALLIANCE NETWORK // FILE : ERSO, JYN

“I think Jyn fully recognized who she was and sought a way to channel her best and worst impulses, her darkest moments and her brightest, toward a cause worthy of her true incandescence.

In a kinder universe, she would have walked away from Scarif. I can’t imagine who she would have become, but I think she would have been extraordinary.

I am grateful I knew her, no matter how short the time.”

–Mon Mothma, personal files, Unpublished Reflections on Jyn Erso. (Canon Divergence: Jyn survived Scarif.)

Jyn Erso is the daughter of Galen Erso, who helped design the Death Star and it is widely accepted that Erso’s family was torn apart by the violence of the Empire. Her mother, Lyra Erso, was shot and killed in front of her by Director Orson Krennic’s troops when she was young and her father was imprisoned and reportedly forced to work on the Death Star project. Erso was raised by Rebel radical Saw Gerrera until she was sixteen, at which time he cut ties with the teen over a growing concern that some of his fellow Rebels would try to hurt or ransom her due to her Imperial connections. It is also widely accepted that she received advanced training which rose her to high rank in Gerrera’s forces before the departure.

Erso was later imprisoned by the Empire under a false name (known aliases: Liana Hallik, Tanith Pontha, and Kestrel Dawn) on multiple occasions. She was later rescued by Alliance forces for the purpose of aiding in making contact with Saw Gerrera whose militant nature had caused him to fracture from the Rebellion. The Rebel Alliance hoped that by using Erso, they could get to Saw and retrieve the information that Bodhi Rook (a defected Imperial pilot) had brought forth regarding an Imperial superweapon.

Jyn Erso is a self-reliant and aggressive fighter whose major objective for the better part of her life had been mere survival. At the beginning of her assigned mission, she held no intention of joining forces with Alliance Forces until she reportedly saw a holo-message from her father, where he allegedly explained that he had purposefully put a weakness into the Death Star so that it could be destroyed by Rebel Forces. Erso later realized the danger of the Death Star and worked with Captain Cassian Andor and a makeshift team to ensure that the Death Star plans were retrieved from Scarif — a mission that came with a high price.

It should be noted that while Erso engaged on the Scarif mission against orders it resulted in a lasting and vital victory for the Alliance, leading directly to the destruction of the Death Star which was carried out by Luke Skywalker. Having been given the rank of sergeant during said mission, upon Erso’s medical recovery she became an active member within the Alliance having completed flight training, as well as working in intelligence.

@rebxl ~ ofc ofc accepted !

I know I’ve been really sporadic with replies lately, life has been hectic but I’m working on getting this blog back to full activity and replies should be coming this evening after work provided I’m not wiped out from my shift.

Cassian doesn’t hesitate, he just runs after Jyn, knowing that whatever brought her to this decsion was soething she trusted deeply and he wasn’t going to be the one to go against it. The Force led her and he followed her because she’d never been wrong once. So When she stopped and put her arm out, Cassian obviously stopped as well. They had already done so much on this mission to try and save their own skin after their contact had obviously sold them out to the Empire and one wrong move from either of them could be catastrophic. This sector was armed to blow and they didn’t have a large window to make it back to make sure they achieved what they set out to do on their mission.  At her words, Cassian nodded. The brief look he’d had at the figure retreating, he’d been positive it was their contact and a look of pure anger crossed his features, he almost growled but instead he set his jaw and looked at Jyn. “He sold us out. He’s a traitor.” There was only one thing that Cassian wanted to do and that was catch him. “We need to go after him and bring him back to Yavin to be interrogated….” They had to get whatever information they could out of him if he’d betrayed the Rebellion. If that was the case, he could have revealed where the base was to Vader or anyone…and that wasn’t a good thing. “We have time if we hurry.” He’d wait for Jyn’s decision, he’d follow what she thought was the best option.

Green hues dart between the retreating figure and the narrow passage which led to their ship, a building sense of unease growing within the pit of her stomach and radiating through her body. There would be no preventing what was going to happen to this sector of the city and in turn the casualties that would come with the Empire’s actions. What they could do, however, was capture the man which set these events into motion. Perhaps they were at fault for having come there, for having sought out information and thus putting those around them in danger from a government bent on squashing the rebellion, but this was a WAR and they had a job to do.

Unease be damned. If this sector was going to blow,                    she was damn sure it wasn’t going to be in vain.

“Let’s go.” Jyn states, moving forward to follow after the traitor and giving little care about who she was pushing past as the streets became more narrow and winding. “The lower market’s up there right?” Jyn questions as she attempts to recall the map they’d observed on the ship. “Which means those two streets should wrap around to the main entrance of the forum.” She reasons, a plan forming. “You take the right, I’ll flank left.” If they timed it right they should be able to cut him off and grab him at the intersection point.

He was torn between taking her hand and pulling his hand away, withdrawing back into himself. Luke made no move to do either as she touched the side of his face, forcing him to look at her. It was just a cut, but it was one he had inflicted. It was like he was turning into the very thing he was fighting so hard against. He had failed in the cave, failed on Bespin, and now he was failing here.
He couldn’t tell her what was wrong, not until he was sure of the truth, but he could at least tell her what happened to him in that moment. “Jyn, I would never intentionally hurt you,” he started. “My fight with Vader, it’s still too fresh in my head. I thought I could handle it, but…” He shook his head. “It was like I was back in Cloud City. I wasn’t fighting you. I was fighting Vader.”
Rubbing his flesh hand down his face, Luke went on. “It doesn’t excuse what I’ve done, but maybe it clears things up?” Jyn was right of course. He needed to get this thing under control if he ever wanted a chance at saving Han from Jabba the Hutt. “I can’t tell you what’s wrong now, but I will. I promise. I hope you can forgive me, Jyn. You’re very important to me, and I don’t want anything to come between us.”

Jyn liked to believe she knew Luke Skywalker better than most (well, except maybe Wedge) but she was also hyper aware of how much this war had changed them both. He wasn’t the sandy-haired child she remembered. She wasn’t the sixteen-year-old fireball who looked out for him on Tatooine either. Those people were their shed past and it’s almost chilling to realize that maybe they never really were those people to begin with. Not really. And yet, as green hues find his, Jyn knows that while this Luke might be conflicted, while they both might be new people, she did know him. She knew his heart and so she had faith in him and his ability to fight through his confliction and find the best part of himself. “I know you wouldn’t.” And her words are spoken with true sincerity.

“I understand that more than you know, Luke.” There had been so many nights that Jyn had awoken in a cold sweat after Scarif, mind still reeling and body tense as if she was there again. Sometimes it was memories, other times events played out different but always with the same end result: everyone dead. There had been times it had bled into her waking life. A smell, a sound, something triggering a chain reaction of memories that she once again wanted to close behind the hatch in her mind. Eventually, she had pushed forward, Jyn’s training and meditation aiding her. “I’ll be here when you’re ready.” Jyn reassures. There was no more running for her. The rebellion had become her HOME, her path as a Jedi set for better or worse, and Luke, he was a part of that path, their destinies woven together long before they’d met. “You’re important to me too, flyboy.” She offers, nickname meant to help ease the tension.
