Welcome to Fight Club!

So after a far too long hiatus due to IRL and IC business I’m bringing back Fight Club. Since Mondays are pretty dead for events I’ve decided to hijack it. 

So what is this? It’s going to be friendly sparring, both with weapons and without. No MAGIC! No killing blows and actually trying to avoid injuring each other, though accidents happen ALL the time! (Leave the bloodsport for the Grindstone, plz).

The goal is practice for the Grindstone, both IC and OOCly. It’s been years since I had to do RP fighting and need to brush up on it before tacking something as big as the tournament. Nef also is very much not used to face to face combat so ICly she knows she needs to train before doing this.

Types of combat we want to practice:

If you think that you’re Rp combat skills are just not up to par I strongly advise you to come on out. This is just as much practice for the PLAYER as the character. We’re all doing this to get better not prove who is better. If you are struggling then ask for help OOCly and I know myself or even Erah’sae will give you tips.

NOTE ABOUT INJURIES: There have been at least one, if not two healers express interest in joining, if only to watch and tend injuries. That being said I want folks to play nice and avoid killing each other. You start shit at my playground and I’ll go full Rogue on your ass. Capisci?

There is no requirement to be at every meetup. Simply drop in/out as you wish or time allows. I really expect attendance to fluctuate all the time. I promise not to take it personally. ;-)

Maintenance isn’t until 2am so we have plenty of time!

Balmung Roegadyn Meet!

I did one of these in the past and said I was going to do one again. It’s about time! The first one was a success and we had a great time RPing. Right now I’m thinking two weeks from now on the evening of Sunday the 17th, 8PM EST. This will be an IC event! I’d like to keep it PG-13 since we’ll be RPing in a public space. Of course you won’t be turned away if you’d like to attend and you aren’t Roegadyn. If you want to come, please do!  I am still deciding on a location and will be posting it in the next few days!

 Hello everyone! The Lilac Lace Society is hosting our Tribal Awareness Day. This event will take place on April 17th and start at 8:00EST. This event strongly relies on your participation and we’re looking forward to trying to include a variety of characters. Please see below on how you’ll be able to participate whether or not you’re Xaela!

Xaela

 This event is centered around Xaela and Xaela culture. They will be the only characters allowed to merchant their wares. They are allowed to sign up as performers. They will have a moment of showcase where they talk about their tribes and some of their traditions. All characters / tribes that sign up will also take part in, “Heart & Home,” (information below). Tribes can be both lore official and player created.

 This event allows performers from all races to showcase their talent. If you would like to be a performer during this event, please message Simi Jinkjahl @moonlit-ffxiv​ or Lilithium Rinannis @lili-dove​ with the following information:

Performers: Characters performing in singles have one to five minutes to do their performance. Group performances have five to ten minutes.

Heart & Home

This is our, “Special Event,” of the evening. Heart & Home is a trade between the signed up Xaela tribes and the various tribes and people of Eorzea. All Xaela characters and tribes that signed up for the event will take this moment showcase their tribes. They will then trade something of substance to their Eorzean counterpart. Any Eorzean who signs up for this event will be expected to trade something of substance to their Xaela counterpart. Both will explain to the other why this item is important to them.

Xaela have two - three minutes to showcase their tribes. After that, their trade with their Eorzean counterpart will start. To keep things moving at a steady pace, and that no one is treated unfairly, Xaela and Eorzeans will have up to five minutes (each) to describe their trades and accept them. We suggest all participants have their posts typed up ahead of time. Participants are encouraged to mingle after the closing ceremony.

Example: A member of the Noykin tribe may trade a foal of one of their surviving studs to an Ala Mhigan. The Ala Mhigan may then trade off well crafted monk fist weapons (with chakras or the gods’ symbol carved into them). These are both objects of homes destroyed, creating a similarity of importance between the two people, and they could explain what the item means to them.

The Showdown Details

It’s been some time since the Dread Wyrms have hosted an event for the public and for that we apologize. The more recent moons have been ever so busy. However, as is our way, we return in full force to bring you a showdown that only our unique professional brand can muster. 

Certainly everyone’s heard “Drunken Sailor” and “Blow Boys, Blow!”. Though we very well think the world has need of some fresh, original shanties to put some wind in the sails of sailors of both air and sea.

That’s where you come in.

Compose an entirely original shanty and put on a show for a drunken and joyous crowd within Dalamud’s End while four judges take our pick of the litter and lavish them with prizes that might well toss your mind overboard.

No rules to hold your creativity back save it MUST be a proper shanty in theme.

The Prizes

This is why you’re all here. Besides booze and incredibly dashing sailor lads and lasses, that is.

The GRAND prize, the person who impresses us the most will be given the reins of a rare Zu specimen, tamed by one of our own crew to serve as your trusty steed or murder beast. This is no Fools joke, despite the date. Sure, it looks terrifying and can likely tear your enemies in half with a single snap of the beak but we promise you it’s secretly a lover, not a fighter. Would we lie to you? 

Probably.

To all runner-ups, we’ll be granting them a single primal minion of their choice crafted by our own Admiral and genius researcher, Shiori Eikitaika, that has the very essence of the Primals within their tiny forms! These creations will do anything from haul your luggage to launching themselves at your friends and foes alike to pummel them in adorable primal fashion. We’re not to blame for any tempering that goes on.

When and Where!?

The showdown starts at 8 PM CST on the First of April and runs until whenever you choose to leave or we eventually get tired of you and the contest has ended. We’re not a bloody hotel, after all. Though that likely won’t be until midnight at latest.

We’ll be hosting it within our very own mansion, Dalamud’s End, found within the Goblet. Ward Seven, Plot Thirteen. The booze is on the house during and even if you’re not throwing yourself into the contest, we’d love to see you there.
