Elias poked his head out of his dorm. “I’m gonna be real honest with you, I could not care less about whatever your problem is and I have zero interest in doing anything about it.” He was by far the worst dorm advisor at Paragon. “I have a cat to bathe and as you can imagine, it’s his least favorite time of the week so if you’re going to set your roommate on fire or something because they keep stealing your shit, by all means go for it. Get idea. Ten out of ten.”

Not quite listening, River raised his eyebrows at only one sentence in what the other was saying. “Okay, I wasn’t listening to you because you’re really boring.” He admitted, crossing his arms. “But, bathing a cat?” He asked before laughing, nodding. “You’re fucking suicidal dude, good luck.”

“We’re gonna be fine.” Ben nodded. He wasn’t sure if he was trying to reassure himself or everyone else, but he smiled at the person next to him anyway. “It’s just a blackout. It’s fine.”

He had finally succeeded to make Eliana sleep, which had been a challenge without Ariel, and was actually going around the library, trying to get busy not to panic for he was, actually, pretty scared. Hearing Ben, the Howlett felt for once like he had to help instead of just being mean, and got closer, placing a hand on the Wilson’s boy shoulder. “Yeah, we’re going to be fine. But that’s fine to freak out, though. If you need anything, someone to reassure you, or to talk to.. Or even a hug, I’m here, alright?”

who decided it was a good idea to have her put in charge of a room full of panicked people? oh right, the other adults in charge needed her help too. between the boy scout and the dent kid, someone else had to step up.so lindy relied on the questions she usually asked herself, what would bucky or steve do? the answer was obvious. check on the others and keep people calm. with a small sigh, lindy walked away from the larger crowd and towards a less populated area. she turned towards the first figure she could make out. ❝…is there anything you need? ❞  just saying that left her with a weird taste in her mouth.

Having his daughter with him and Ariel and his son away from him, River had no ideas what he had to do, and even less because his baby was crying in his arms. “Eli, come on..” He whispered, a bit desperate as he had no ideas why she was crying. “Here’s an idea, you talk and tell me what’s wrong..?” He asked, before looking at the baby who kept crying, and put her back in the blanket on the floor, sitting next to her and sighing deeply in despair. Looking at the woman when she came and asked if he needed something, the Howlett shook his head. “Me? No. Her? Yes. I have no ideas what, but she wants it so bad she’s becoming red as fuck because of how much she cries.” He stated before passing his hands on his face. “I don’t get what you want, just stop crying you give me a headache.”

Scout kept looking towards the door, wanting to leave as quick as she could. She longed to get out and do something but instead she’s stuck waiting for some other adult to help calm the panic and figure things out. There had to be someone else in the library who was thinking along the same lines she was and looking around the room she think she knew who. Walking over towards them she cracked her knuckles in anticipation, “What do you say we get outta here? Do some exploring?”

Annoyed to be stuck without his girlfriend, and with other people, River had definitely troubles to keep his claws inside of his hands, and at this moment he was trying to wipe the blood from his knuckles due to this little problem. Looking up when someone spoke, the Howlett nodded almost immediately, sighing. “Anything that makes me go away from here. I follow you.”

“it’s nice to know i’m not the only one,” she notes amused. it makes her feel stupid and spoilt but the fact no less true. all those lessons on how to be a proper lady, and yet she couldn't make anything more than the simplest of meals for herself. she held up her hands in surrender then a laugh tumbling from her lips “alright you got me there,” she shakes her head.“well then you’re a better person than me,” she notes with a mental note that she would quite clearly owed the other one.

“I doubt anyone is really capable to cook something here." He admitted, frowning slightly. "I mean, most of the students are.. Either bullies, either smartasses, either thinking fighting is the only important thing. And ask mommy and daddy dearest to get some food that is.. Approximately good." He shrugged. And it was him saying that, that kept eating raw meat for it was the best way to not get hungry. At least, just for him. "Am I? And that's the first fucking time that happens." He admitted before laughing. "I used to claw people for fun. I imagine my girlfriend tamed me good."

she had spotted the man from a little while away – they’d been lingering in the same section when she spoke up. kim didn’t really get why strangers couldn’t be friends. and books! books always brought people together! that’s what stories were made for, after all. “destroyed?” she repeated, horrified at the thought. her only friends for the longest, longest time had been the characters in her stories, and to see any of them get hurt would be devastating. “oh no! i hope that didn’t happen to you,” she said, before introducing herself with a more subdued smile. “i’m kim! nice to meet you!”

"Yeah, destroyed." He said before nodding slowly, frowning. It was painful just to think about it, at least for him. He had alwyas treated his books like his babies, and he hated just knowing he had none of it anymore. "It.. Did happen. I had over five hundred books, now I have two.. Maybe three? But that's all good, I'm just gonna.." He showed his pile of book. "Buy new ones?" He said, before smiling. "I'm River. It's nice to meet you too."

“ aeron , “ they resisted the urge to roll their eyes. “ our parents are friends. “ would that give him somewhat of a refresher ? they doubted it.

“Aeron! I knew it.” He said with a smile before shaking his head. “Oooh..” He said as if he cared about it before nodding. “Yep, that might be why I don’t give a shit about what your name is.” The Howlett shrugged. “Sorry, that might be unpleasant to hear. I’m not even really sorry.” He said before making a face.

bella popped her bubblegum , her feet propped up on the table. “ maybe you should google it , “ she said , rolling her red eyes. “ but from the sounds of it , you’re a very boring person , live a little , dude. just because you don’t like to get wasted doesn’t mean you can’t have fun. maybe set a house on fire , that’s always fun. “

Looking at her, River frowned slightly and rolled his eyes after her words. “I’m not boring. I’m responsible, which isn’t the case of everyone here.” Of course, River was still sensitive on the subject of alcohol. For he was trying to stop drinking definitively, for sure, he didn’t even thought about touching one bottle or anything else. “Sure, let’s kill people or destroy their life, that’s always amazing.”

“They’re not that bad…” That said, Isabelle had always quite enjoyed a good party herself. “All depends who you’re out with, really. The better the crowd, the more fun the party.” But she and River, as much as they got along, were very different; she wouldn’t push him to have a party. “Sure,” she nodded, smiling. “It’s your birthday, if that’s what you want, then I’d be happy to come over.”

“Oh, no they definitely are that bad.” River stated, laughing slightly. “I mean, yeah. You’re right on that. I wouldn’t mind having a party with other people to talk about books, but other kinds.. Eh, not really.” He shrugged, smiling when she accepted and nodding at her words. “Yeah, I’d like to have you there. But don’t feel like you have to, I mean if you have other things to do, that’s okay.” He said with a slight smile.

“And this is why trying to make friends doesn’t sound like such a bad idea.” She points out with a warm smile, resting her head on his shoulder. “Well thank you, babe, I’m sure that our kids also appreciate being you’re alone as well, and yeah, I get that.” The blonde responds back, pressing a kiss onto his cheek. “Isabelle is sweet and your sister, I still don’t really know her, but I highly doubt that she sucks.”

“I am really trying for that.” He admitted. "But this is hard, I don't like people." He said, before looking at her and smiling at her words. "A year ago I wouldn't have say that. I would've said you were the most annoying person I'd ever known. That changed a lot." He said before smiling again, kissing her lips slowly. "My sister is my sister. Thus, she sucks." He stated.

hello river , “ the fairy never looked happy when they saw river. maddie and jean , yes. but it was impossible to get along with him. he always gave them a weird mix of vibes. they’d rather stay away from them as much as possible but it would not be possible on this campus. “ always nice to see you. “

“Hello, uh...” He frowned, thinking. “Hello!” He exclaimed, smiling like to say he had forgot her name, and he didn’t care about it. “Yeah? I would’ve bet for the opposite tho.”

Glancing up from the page she had been reading, Isabelle shrugged, her brow furrowing slightly. “Parties are pretty much the usual,” she started, nodding slowly. “But honestly, not everyone throws a party.” And in truth, some of those who did probably only did so because they felt they had to. “I guess I’d say just spend time with the people who are important to you. You friends, and family.”

“Parties sucks.” River said as he scruched up his nose, looking at Isabelle and listening to her carefully. “Would you want to come home tonight?” He asked, frowning slightly. “I mean, you’re my only friend, and my family will be home, of course..” He shrugged, looking at her before smiling slightly.

“Well, they go out with their friends and/or family to celebrate their birthday.” She muses with a warm smile and gently pulls his book away to sit in his lap, wrapping an arm around his shoulder. “You aren’t alone, you have me and the twins, and you do have a couple of friends babe, like Isabelle and you have your sister as well. Not all people suck.”
ImageImage
“Friends and family.. Well I can’t say I have enough friends for that.” He said before tilting his head, laughing slightly. “You and the twins you’re my alone now. Alone for me is like.. Without bothers around, you know?” He asked, smiling. “My sister sucks. Isabelle.. Well, she sucks less than most people.”

“What does normal people do for their birthday?” River asked, as he frowned slightly and looked up from his book. He still didn’t consider himself as normal, and that was probably the thing he had to work on the most. “If I listened to myself I would just read books, drink tea and eat all day, and all alone. So, what do people usually do? Aside from parties because that suck, because.. People.”

“sorry,” addy replied with a slight cringe, if there was one thing she hated it was to be an inconvenience, something to do with her perfectionist mindset.”yeah i did. one of my guardians doesn’t really trust me to cook which is fair enough to be honest,” the girl was skilled in certain areas, and unfortunately lacking in others. “would you mind? i mean i’d have to find a way of paying you back, but at this point even some tips would be helpful,”
ImageImage
“It’s okay.” River smiled slightly. He was in a good mood, it was definitely helping him to be nicer to others at this point. "I get that. I don't think I'll trust my girlfriend to cook. Bake, sure, definitely. But cook.. I have no ideas, but she gives this impression she would be able to burn pasta." He said before raising his eyebrows. "If I minded I wouldn't have proposed my help, so that was a useless question." He said before smiling. "Don't have to pay me back, it's out of the goodness of my heart, I need to be nicer to people, so there we go."

“yeah alfred i promise i won’t burn down the kitchen,” adella spoke into the phone pacing back and forth in front of the academy clearly preoccupied by her phone call not really noticing the others around her. “and yes i promise to call alright, take care of yourself okay… bye,” it was only when she put the phone down that she turned and spotted the other. “oh sorry! i wasn’t in your way was i?”

“Uh, just a little bit.” River admitted as he looked at the woman, tilting his head slightly. “But I heard you talking about burning down a kitchen, I assume you meant with food?” He asked curiously. That was one way to have everything forgiven by River. Talking about food, or books, or both. “I mean if you need help to keep that kitchen safe, I could help you. Maybe. If you need help.”
