Hi guys, just logged back in to toss a note that this blog hasn't been active since 2021 except for few file fixes so I don't understand why it's receiving new followers, I'm not planning to come back here ever so you're wasting your time if you're hoping for that.

In fact I've decided to fully abandon tumblr now so if you're looking for new content by me the latest place I'm posting it is simblr.cc and my page there is here. That's also where I've reposted most of the content from Digisims2 which I've now also abandoned.

I'm logging right back out after posting this and making sure all the notifications are set off so good bye.

@esotheria-sims​ mentioned wishing there was version of Bloom’s Sexy feet body replacement with smooth hands and since apparently such doesn’t exist I promised to make that happen so here’s those. I probably forgot to include pictures of few of them when taking screens for the compilations so see the included note about what really is included, basically if Bloom had made sexyfeet version of it I added smoothHands to it. I also added smooth hands to Warlock’s XHiRes body replacements so you can also grab those below if you prefer them over Bloom’s. While at it I noticed that there’s that tiny area in the foot that has messed up bone assignments so while at it I fixed that too.

As these are default replacements you can only have one replacement for each file so if you have other body replacements you need to delete those first to use these. If you already have replacement you like and don’t want to use some of the files included here you can just delete those, if the file you don’t want is in one of the bundled files you can simply open it up in SimPE, find the one(s)  you don’t want and delete.

Note: these are rather high poly since they’ve got both sexyfeet and smooth hands. Use with care.

Edit: 29. October 2022: I was informed the hulaskirt has this problem with texture bleeding into arm:

I have no idea how I didn’t notice that, guess I assumed the other hulaskirt much earlier in the catalogue was the only one there is. Turns out the coconut bra is mapped right where the other hand is so the texture you see belongs to it. The original maxis version has both arms mapped to one side so I did the same. And this has now been fixed:

Please redownload Bloom Sexyfeet body replacements with SmoothHands file from the link above. The updated file should contain “hulaSkirtFixed“ in its filename. The updated files are called:

  • Blooms_sexyfeetDefaultTeens_Mesh_SmoothHands
  • Blooms_sexyfeetDefaultAdults_Mesh_SmoothHands
  • Blooms_sexyfeetDefaultAdultswithmalenipples_Mesh_SmoothHands

let them overwrite the originals if you have them and it should be fine.

Bunch of sliders were shared today and during couple last days so I might as well throw these in the mix too. For now these’ll be the last ones I’ll post too.

UPDATED May 29th 2022: Digi_Slider_EyeLowerLidStraighter was missing one icon in CAS, that has now been fixed. I also disabled the opposite side of the closed eyes and ear stretch sliders since nobody really needs one huge eye like that or wonky ear right? Also updated the icons for those to reflect this change.

To install just put them in your downloads folder and to uninstall just delete the files. 

One of the sliders is really close to slider Memento released but I decided that it’s different enough to include. For comparison (both are yanked to the end of the slider without any other slider touching the eye shape):

Hi Digi, I have to report that the in-game CAS icon of your Lower Lid Straightener is incomplete (in Bodyshop, it displays fine). Can you take a look at this, or is it already fixed?

Huh that's odd, I checked the file and it seems to have everything needed in it but now that I checked in CAS and plastic surgery I have the same issue, I need to check if I somehow managed to break it with the new slider I just released since nobody reported issues with it before this and obviously the new slider is the only chance that has happened.

Christ, okay so on closer inspection I noticed that this slider’s icon has indeed been broken this whole time, there was a small typo I never noticed and nobody ever reported it during these five years those have been available. The slider still works though despite the missing icon so maybe that’s why nobody had alerted me of it. I’ll edit the original upload to add the fixed version to it but to anyone who just wants the fixed file instead of grabbing the whole bundle again you can just download the fixed slider from here, the name is the same but last modified date should be 29/05/2022:

I always make my Sims in bodyshop and the only thing I do in CAS is add their clothes and give them personality so I never noticed the icon was broken, I’m so sorry. |||orz

Wow, I’m actually kind of speechless, I cleaned 2 pages of spam on allthehairs on Sunday, now I went back to look thinking I’d probably have to flag and delete links from maybe 10-15 entries but instead was greeted with bit over 7 pages of spam links.

Honestly, I’m so tempted to just walk away and leave it be, not like anything is done to the spam entries anyway and with them clogging the whole site up it’s pretty much useless already. :/

edit: Took me hour to delete it all and during it 6 new spam posts were made. Yeah, I’m not gonna bother anymore, I’m done.

Ah this is great! I had no idea they overlap with the maxis glasses because I never use them (the maxis ones I mean) Also I’m pleasantly surprised to find out that 8 years later someone (who’s not me) is still using them in their game. :’)

Posted my Sim challenge entry. This is Bethany, don’t tell her anything you want kept private. (prompt: quidnunc) If you want to have her:

She includes all the makeup but is wearing default skin, eyes, hair, eyeglasses and clothes. Included notepad links to the missing files though so you can finish her look if you want. :) (skin is the one I’m working on and hope to share soon, eyes are the previous eyes I posted but defaulted, I can upload the default set with the skins then if there’s interest.)

Here’s little update about the skin I’m working on. Wish the compression of the gif didn’t butcher it that badly but at least you’ll be able to see the colors this way (22 colors overall, I’m good at this “defaults and maybe few more” thing aren’t I?). Also added one of the darker ones as separate image to show that it’s not quite as pixelated as the gif makes it look like. Actually this color is probably the one with the worst pixelation out of them all.

Bit late to share these (as they’re called “February eyes”...) but eh, uploading them anyway. So what you’re getting is hand drawn eyes on my animation friendly sclera. Bit on the cartoony side but that's what I was aiming for this time.

I have like 20 projects I should finish but then I saw this kimono jacket by @nell-le​ and noticed that their TOU says conversions are fine with credit. I guess I’m doing this project instead, everything unfinished can wait a bit longer xD

should I make second version with some kind of top texture pasted on it so it won’t be bare chested? Maybe some basic tanktop or t-shirt?

It didn’t exist but since that literally required editing 3 textures and reimporting them I made you such edit; Download without Third Eye (default only) I also added it to the original post. :)

i’m not a skin maker, but i feel like DXT1 should be perfectly fine for skins unless they have an alpha channel. DXT 1/3/5 store colors in the exact same way, they just handle transparency differently — 1 uses a binary opaque/transparent, 3 uses four alpha values over the whole image, and 5 is more complicated but has smoother transparencies at the cost of a filesize twice as large as DXT1. DXT1 does cause color compression in images with transparency, so i imagine it would be pretty bad for basically anything except skins, but as far as i know skin textures are fully opaque.

While it would make sense in theory it unfortunately just doesn’t work, I’m not sure if it’s something SimPE does or what causes it but DXT1 is... just not good. As pictures tell more than thousand words I’ll just put these under the cut since it’s a long post...

I won't keep this color since it's too dark but wanted to do this little PSA to skin creators: if your (dark) skins look like the first half of the first image even after you import them through SimPE, add some noise to the textures and reimport them again it makes them a lot less blotchy (side 2). Also never use import button, use "build dxt..." and then either dxt3 or dxt5 and import your textures that way. Using dxt1 or import will destroy any improvements you just made so never use them for skins.

I personally use Painttool SAI > paper texture, scale 50% and then depending on the color set the texture strength, this one was set to 8 (normally I use 2-6 but this one is so dark I felt it needed more) but adding noise should get you similar effect (second picture), add just enough that the texture breaks a little (used 0,3 here). Downside is that the textures will be grainier and it's matter of taste if grainy > blotchy or the opposite. But yeah, that's how I handle darker skins.
