*finally finds reblog button* This is the dress of sanity consumption, where one stares into the screaming void and it stares back and says “you need to sew down all that gold lattice work. On both edges.

Wool, silk and linen. Designed, drafted and made by me. The little buttons are actually blown glass, with little twists of glass forming the button loops and are approximately the best things ever (each one has a corset hook and eye behind it because like hell am I trusting glass to weight bear)

I am disgustingly impressed and proud of you!

Thanks, I keep wanting to form a mini mediaeval court and go on a picnic or to afternoon tea)

1940s sci-fi, featuring @porange. Shot on a sunny mid-afternoon with a single bare speedlight as key, aiming for the period lighting look. Film simulation by Nik tools, since Megan was experimenting with period makeup.

So, yes, Snow White. Occassionally I will get ALL CONSUMING PROJECTS THAT CAN END WORLDS. This was one of them.

Dress designed, patterned, sewn, embroidered and worn by me (Bun net is, however, made my my Mum, who can crochet, unlike me :P). Incidentally I have very thick, bum length, ginger hair. IT IS ALL UNDER THAT WIG

I feel I should also add that I own knee high clompy new rock boots and it was only by sheer force of will that Snow White was not wearing giant stompy boots. I mean, it would have been totally mindblowingly amazing, but ultimately I figured *slightly* more historical looking boots were a better choice.

I also want to add: I can answer any questions on design/construction of this dress and will do so with MANY ENTHUSIASM AND CAPSLOCK.

Dress spec: Fabric sourced from Bluebottle’s stash who I don’t know the tumblr of, but is entirely to blame because I looked at the fabric and went “I COULD BE SNOW WHITE”

Bodice: Wool (blend?), thick twill, tafetta, horse hair canvas (I love this stuff)

Skirt: Probably viscose or polyester curtain fabric

Chemise probably polycotton

Headdress: silk, mystery weird stiff fabric, horsehair canvas, millinery wire, glass beads, sort of wire tiara that I mutilated.
