more bitching about ghost: at this point wtf even is the significance of copia (or anyone' really?) finding out who his parents are.......it's been several years of this "mystery" going absolutely nowhere but we haven't been shown any reason why the answer is even important like.

why is it a secret. IS it even a secret? it seems heavily implied that imperator wants it to be a secret but like. why is it bad if other people in the church find out....why would her having sex and getting pregnant be some kind of taboo in this sexually liberated satanic church? we still know nothing about how this whole organization works so i have absolutely no clue what the significance of any of this Family Drama is. also WHO even ARE the other people in the church that could find out about it? this church seems to have no people in it because loma vista is too cheap to hire background extras for the chapter videos lmao so like WHO ARE WE KEEPING IT A SECRET FROM AND WHY. who was that random ghoul that assassinated the old papas. who was that guy who embalmed the papas. where is everyone else. what the fuck does mr. saltarian do. i have so many questions.

LV wants us to be invested in this story soooo bad but there literally isn't a story anymore so i just like.....cannot care about it.....all the Chapter videos are just a few minutes of awkward fart jokes. we've had mr. saltarian around for what like a year now? and we still know absolutely nothing about him. copia's personality has gone nowhere, he hasn't developed as a character or anything, tbh he's gotten less likable in the chapter videos because he went from "awkward guy with something to prove" to Adult Baby Doing Nothing

the prequelle-era stuff was great because it felt like it was going somewhere but recently it's come to a complete screeching halt and i know the pandemic is partially to blame for that BUT LIKE...they've been able to record new Chapters so why not DO something with them???

i miss when the "story" was just Papa And The Ghouls Exist and we were left to fill in the blanks ourselves tbh cuz right now the "story" exists in this uncomfortable place where it's really obvious that someone in the marketing department at the label said "we gotta have a story to sell these characters" so we're just getting half-baked half-assed crap lmao. it's a "story" in the same way an 80s cartoon designed to sell toys has a "story"
