The most popular browsers in different countries in 2012 and 2022.

Nope! When Chrome first came to popularity, people switched over to it cause it was “faster” (turns out, it just eats through your device’s CPU) but since then Firefox has upped its game in a major way. Chrome just doesn’t measure up anymore. Plus, nowadays Chrome is just a data harvester designed to show hyper targeted ads - so even if Firefox ain’t for you, it’s still worth ditching Google for a different browser.

Legit though I switched to Firefox and it’s so so so much better

i’m gonna keep reblogging this ad infinitum so yall might as well convert now

remember that all chrome based browsers will no longer allow adblockers starting this june

the modern internet is literally unusable without one, so switch to firefox

things haven't been great but i think they will be. eventually 🌻🌼🩷

I'm sad to see this little comic resonates with so many people, although I hope it gives you strength and solidarity in difficult times. Likewise, thank you for your comments and insights in the tags. It helps me feel less alone.

Also, hello new followers! If you followed me for this sort of thing, prepare to be very, very disappointed hahaha

I think the idea that love and harm can't coexist is dangerous. It would be so easy to think "I can't be harming my kids, I love them. I know I do, I can feel it." I tried to tell family members about my abuser and the response was "How can you say that? He loves you." I know he does. It doesn't matter.

as a kid i had one of those “there’s a monster under my bed” moments except real.

every night i would cry about a ghost or something trying to scare me by knocking on my bedroom windows and walls. like, really loudly, every hour or so, every night. only at night. so my dad was like “heh okay kiddo let’s check it out :) ah see? there’s nothing here :)” and left.

until years later he admitted to me that he did in fact hear the unexplainable knocking when he slept in that room one night, and it kept him awake with fear. and suddenly felt awful for not believing little kid me.

imagine your kid being like “daddy there’s a demon in my closet” and you being like ok son lemme just check that for you :). and you open the door and there’s a demon in the closet

WHAT

I had an irrational fear of there being an alligator under my bed as a kid and I think I was just telepathically linked with whoever wrote those tags

Also:

  • Making someone listen to us (and then not taking their advice)
  • Procrastinating during job/school
  • Floor Time™️
  • Imaginary AMV to song you're currently listening to
  • Spin wheel of random prompts

Aaaaaaaand

  • Staring into the far distance during car rides/public transit!

Also consider:

  • Going for a walk!
  • Cooking a dinner!
  • Watching a video that you're only kind of interested in!
  • Having an extremely important conversation with someone where you're supposed to be listening to them the whole time!
  • Going to bed and trying to fall asleep!

And!

  • Being really busy and having no time to write until hours later!

I've never been able to determine the provenance of this one, but regardless:

Scientists at UC Riverside have demonstrated a new, RNA-based vaccine strategy that is effective against any strain of a virus and can be used safely even by babies or the immunocompromised.  Every year, researchers try to predict the four influenza strains that are most likely to be prevalent during the upcoming flu season. And every year, people line up to get their updated vaccine, hoping the researchers formulated the shot correctly. The same is true of COVID vaccines, which have been reformulated to target sub-variants of the most prevalent strains circulating in the U.S. This new strategy would eliminate the need to create all these different shots, because it targets a part of the viral genome that is common to all strains of a virus. The vaccine, how it works, and a demonstration of its efficacy in mice is described in a paper published today in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.  “What I want to emphasize about this vaccine strategy is that it is broad,” said UCR virologist and paper author Rong Hai. “It is broadly applicable to any number of viruses, broadly effective against any variant of a virus, and safe for a broad spectrum of people. This could be the universal vaccine that we have been looking for.”

I thought it was the most hilarious thing that Adrienette's dynamic was

Adrien (platonic) loves touching Marinette and being in her personal space

While Marinette (romantic) can't handle touching Adrien on her own and can't help but recoil from him (tho ofc not all the time)

This is also important because until 1951, Indigenous kids were not allowed to dance at pow wows. It was illegal for them to participate. This is not only heartwarming, but an act of defiance against the ongoing oppression and genocide sanctioned by the Canadian government.
