Been thinking about how you'd describe the sounds we dragons make.

Cuz like. There's growling and snarling yes. The crackle of our movements. But like, when we're playing or whatever. Is it more doglike, or catlike? My language is a little limited here, and my frame of reference is from stuff like the How To Train Your Dragon movies where they sampled sounds and behaviors from dogs and cats. Even the roaring sounds of more stereotypical monstrous dragons in media are edited sounds from lions or tigers or even elephants.

Also thinking about identity construction a lot. Like, that recent paper on otherkin and therian identities by Luiggi-Hernández talks about how therians often consult both media and real life examples to describe their theriotypes. For otherkin like dragons though, we've got no real-world examples like a dog therian would. Where do you find your footing like that?

There's this part in the later half of Patricia Taxxon's video "On The Ethics of Boinking Animal People" where she kinda half-jokes about how the best way to be non-binary is to bark. Like, if human aesthetics are judged so rigidly along masculine or feminine lines, then nonhuman-ness goes beyond that. Going along this line of thought, in my opinion being a dragon is kinda emblematic of non-binary identities from an aesthetic view. The definition of dragon has been stretched and encompass everything from the "classical" Western Europe, to the Mesoamerican Quetzalcoatl, to my local myths about the Bakunawa. Each with specific context and expression in local culture, but referred to as part of the same general idea.

toshiro is also autistic and clearly envies how much laios doesn't mask and is able to say whatever he's thinking outright (he literally says so after their fight). and he was raised as like a minor lord or whatever in feudal japan so he learned to mask early on and that combination of masking + raised in a high-context culture + being in a foreign land with different etiquette means that he'll go through herculean levels of discomfort to not upset any perceived group balance and only snaps when he's like three days away from dropping dead. which is also something he sees in falin btw and is a big reason why he's drawn to her. imo

💐 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿'𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 (マザーズデー)

'Twas a day late sharing this, so here is a Mother's Day-themed fanart of the Heelers. Making more Bluey fan-art, now and continually in the style of retro anime for a good sense of nostalgia!

Catching up on episodes, Bluey is such an extraordinary series 😭😭😭. I plan on doing more fan-art of this show, and other cartoons as well. Enjoy :)

And we love you mothers everywhere!

if one more person comments on my "we need to keep payphones/public phones" post with "what we need are free phone charging stations and wifi hotspots, like in new york!" i am going to lose my mind. what do you people not understand about "not everyone has a smartphone" and "phones can break". how are these new concepts.

Also, some of y'all are way too comfortable plugging random data cables into your phones.

there's a cable currently sold online for $50USD called the OMG cable

it is indistinguishable from a standard phone charging cable, it comes for iPhone and android.

this cable has stealth hardware hidden inside such that when you plug this cable in to a regular charger and a phone:

the cable (just plugged in to charge) will break into your OS, install a program to harvest data, install Whatsapp, then send a text with the data it harvested to a predetermined number.

that's just with the sample program on Hak5s GitHub.

if you plug this cable into your phone Once, the hacker has your email and your texts.

2factor authentication? scrubbed. the hacker gets your emails AND your texts. they can literally own your accounts any time they so choose, be it email, socials, bank, etc.

I'm not saying you're Likely to run into one of these cables as things stand, but if we started doing public charging stations you know it wouldnt be that long before someone other than me thought about sneaking an OMG into the lineup of cables
