Much more interesting is the mention of Jaal’s family and its alleged infamousness. Liam perks up in interest and allows his watchful eyes to leave the snowy sights before him.

Though the summary of Angara family dynamics was minimized, he expected he’d have to explain repeatedly each word and expression --- and the cold Voeld air might’ve invited him to do so --- if he wasn’t too busy navigating through a frozen warzone --- and even then, he barely knew the man, he’d been recruited into joining them under the pretence of being an envoy for his people && done so without prompting beforehand.
He’d been rushed into a delicate situation --- more so now that his new allies were on the ground with him.

He’ll be happy once they’re back on the Tempest. No matter how much he loves being outside ( especially when it’s snowing! ), he can only take so much of these subarctic temperatures without his mood suffering from it as time progresses.
At least Jaal seems rather at ease here. That counts for something ––––– to Liam, at least.

He might’ve surpassed them, but they still felt like chains pulling him down, straining his every move as he played mental devil’s advocate with himself.
Assisting Evfra had been much the same, though it felt at least that he was the one able to make his own calls do a degree --- in spite of the mounting pressure.

▌░ — Writhing on the ground briefly, he tried his best to return to his feet, bracing his arms against the ground as he attempted to, snarling angrily as he stumbled forcing him to abandon his effort, and instead, use the opportunity to crawl across to cover.
Resting his back against a rock, he set aside his weapon as he tried his best to steady himself and his breathing.
The bolt had come from a Kett ambush, he was caught in the side, he was lucky the shot had missed his head instead, though it had comprised his armour, slamming into his side, his deep blue blood beginning to show against the black of his armour.
Groaning and gritting his teeth, he reached for his weapon and tried to get to his feet, at least to use the rock as cover for him to return fire.
The effort strained his body as he tried to get to his feet, though he was swiftly knocked back as another plasma bolt hit the rock, where his head would’ve been, another bolt hitting his chest plate, keeping him to the ground.
The Angara raised his head, in an effort to at least locate his teammates, pleasantly surprised by the image of the Pathfinder rushing to his side, his medi-gel being prepared for delivery as he hastily reassured the resistance fighter.

Liam’s grin persists even as he shrugs, weapon hugged just a little closer to his front as a particularly chilly breeze slips just past the collar of his jacket.
At least it seems that he’s managed to do away with some of the mounting tension between them –––– and it doesn’t stop there.

The far more manageable Voeld air seemed to sooth the Angara’s skin, his grin widening as he stopped for a moment to take in the atmosphere, outstretching his arms, he chuckled to himself before holding his weapon once more in his hands.
He’d been cramped up on Aya, with Evfra’s instructions effectively locking him to duties within the city, his actions now tied up by some degree of bureaucratic red-tape from the leader.
Months of incessant protections and organizing, preparing for the possible event of a Kett arrival on Aya, had him craving a return to form, a feeling only amplified by his sudden admittance to the Tempest --- it’s unfamiliar environment had him craving a sense of normalcy as he arrived on the previously-lush planet.
❛ I’ve barely gotten myself integrated yet, most of my items are still in storage, aside from a few spare rofjinn. ❜
❛ My interactions with him have been ... limited. His reputation seems to precede him. ❜
▌░ — update: with all of the new tags implemented on my other blog, as well as the new autoplay and theme now completed, (and my inbox there now being far more manageable ) -- i now have the time to get back to writing jaal!
