for an aro person, I fantasize a lot about intimacy. but not in a romantic context like smoochy ooky pooky boo-boo...hell no.

intimacy as in being completely emotionally open to/with someone, being so comfortable with them that you just feel safe and warm. I want to have that type of closeness with someone without having to feel guilty that I won't be able to give them romantic love.

it can be something so very deep within my core, but it's just...not romantic. is that so bad?

There's no such thing as being "too old" for anything beyond hitting on teenagers. You can dress alternatively, play video games, watch children's shows, collect stuffed animals/toys, be silly, play pretend, learn new skills, be active in a fandom, change your mind about something important, pursue new hobbies, have comfort items, be idealistic and passionate and literally anything else at any point of your life. None of those things are exclusively for kids and teens. There's no upper age limit

I struggled with whether to post this edit on Tumblr (or just IG) because I feel like there has been so much drama here lately, but I do think it still applies.

I know this fandom has had its ups and downs. People have come and people have gone. It isn't what it once was. It has changed and that's okay.

For better or worse, we're still a community and we still a family who share the love of a game, a book, and/or characters. Families don't have to agree with each other, but they are connected, like all of us. No one here is alone. No one here has to suffer quietly. We are here to support one another. I know we disagree and have different views, but that doesn't mean we can attack one another. There are ways of handling concerns and disagreements respectfully and gracefully.

If you don't agree with someone, sending anon hate isn't the answer. Reach out to that person, maybe they can help you understand where they're coming from, or just don't interact with them.

The Choices tumblr community used to be a beautiful, thriving, fandom full of talented people, supportive, encouraging people. We still have that, but we can do more, if we just accept our differences and try to be a little kinder to one another.

A person only received the Distinguished Service Award once in their lifetime and he’d never hear the end of it from Naveen if he missed the ceremony.

Telling his mentor that the delay was purely the airline’s fault wasn’t going to cut it. Naveen would just counter that by saying Ethan should have booked an earlier flight. There were definitely disadvantages of someone knowing you so well and for so long.

The fact that he hadn’t been enthused about receiving an award for doing his job was a secondary consideration, thought Ethan.

Well that was good for my angst palate today 😣 poor Ethan, I felt bad for him but also given the circumstances before, I don’t blame Cassie for moving on. Having a relationship long distance is hard especially when you work in the medical field. His work was important but she also had a career to build and he couldn’t be there for her. All he can do now is to learn from his mistake. But it’s still nice that Cassie got her happy ending 😊
