“Sorry about my english”

This is a sentence that I have said a thousand times when speaking to a native english speaker. Now I don’t, because I’ve realized that is not something I should be sorry about. I have seen hundreds of non-native english speakers say the same exact thing and it hurts me a lit bit everytime I read it or hear it because no one should feel ashamed or sorry about them speaking a language that it’s not their own and that they are learning because it’s not “perfect”. Let me get one thing straight: it will never be. English native speakers make mistakes when they speak or write in english, I make mistakes in my native language, everyone does, so it’s only normal that someone who speaks english as a second, third, fourth… language will make them too. The truth is we should be proud of speaking another language, of making that effort, of investing time in learning it instead of apologizing for not speaking it fluently or perfectly to a native speaker. No one (at least no one that is a decent person) will get mad at you, or frustrated, or make fun of you when you make a mistake in english. When someone from another country tries to speak to me or ask me something in my native language I get so happy and I actually feel so proud that they know the language, whether they now a lot or very little, because they are making an effort and I know how hard it is to communicate in a language that’s not your own, especially when you know very few words. Never, in a thousand years, will I make fun of someone for saying something that’s grammatically incorrect, or for misspealling it, or getting the gender wrong or not knowing how to pronounce something, and I know most people wouldn’t either. Don’t apologize, you have done nothing wrong, if anything you should be really proud of yourself for being a polyglot. So no, I’m not sorry about my english, I’m really freaking proud of it, mistakes and all.

P.S: this does not apply only to english but I used this language as an example because it’s the one it happens more frequently with and because so many people know english as a second language but there’s still a lot of native speakers that only speak english and we shouldn’t apologize to someone when we are making an effort to speak to them in their native language.

never let people forget that the main target of nazis are jews.

Lgbt people are targets, black people are targets, other poc are targets.

but their main targets are always Jews. don’t forget about us. Don’t forget that they’re targeting jews.

because everyone seems to be doing so, and its not fair. We’re real people, being targeted. our death, our elimination, is being Claimed as a main goal publicly on television by these neo-nazis.

You don’t get to leave us out of your solidarity posts about the victims and targets of these white supremacists.

To do so is to perpetuate the very antisemitism that these people are spreading. To do so is to be complicit in these neo-nazis goals.

I know most people making posts in solidarity with the targets of these people mean well, but you can’t leave out their main target, for any reason.

Please, if you’re not jewish, reblog this.

I love Star Wars too much to see it drown in negativity. So this post is to remind everyone to ship and let ship, to be kind to the content creators in this fandom, and to spread positivity, not hate!
