so here's a helpful tip for both the newbies and the oldbies of tumblr: if you get asks from someone saying they need money for their sick pet, there's like a 75% chance it's a scam of some sort.
I get about two asks a month specifically asking for donations to help a sick pet, and while I have a lot of sympathy for people who do have sick pets and do need money, a blog that's two days old and has less than ten meme, fandom, or aesthetic posts and then a single fundraising post with a paypal link? is probably not a real person.
"but what if they made a sideblog for fundraising?" well, then why put fandom and meme posts on it? also, why make a sideblog (no followers), when you could post on main and ask your followers for help? you know, people who actually know you? and who might care about donating?
I'm not saying that every fundraising post on this site is fake (there are lots of real ones! there are a lot of very nice people who just need support sometimes!) but in my experience, the "help my sick pet!" ones usually are.
so that's something to look out for
