Don’t Want A Deity Altar?

Make an elemental altar for whatever element you feel the most connected to.

Dedicate an altar to the Moon, the stars, the faraway galaxies.

Honor the Earth on an altar filled with river pebbles and moss and dirt from places that are special to you.

Make a self-empowering altar full of things you like and things that make you feel good about yourself.

Dedicate an altar to your spirit guide and intuitively fill it with things that help you feel connected to them.

Make an altar for people who inspire you who may or may not be dead.

Make an outdoor altar to honor the spirits of the land.

Leave offerings at a flower-filled altar for your local fae, house spirits, or ancestors.

If you feel close to angels and other Light Beings, invite their blessings with an altar.

Make a minimalistic altar dedicated to the concept of simplicity or nothingness.

The possibilities are limitless. If deity-worship is uncomfortable for you, create a space where you can ground, meditate, and feel magickal without the aid of a deity. The purpose of an altar is to create a sacred space that makes you feel alive with magickal energy, safe, protected, thoughtful. It’s your own special place. Make it a place you’d like to visit often.

Little tips for the college witch!

I know personally how hard it can be to maintain doing the witchy things you love when you’re at college. Here are some things you can do that don’t take long while you’re at college!

1.) Do a one card tarot reading for yourself! My favorite is just asking: “What should I work on today?” This prevents any worrying cards from popping up and discouraging you in your academic endeavors.

2.) Sigils sigils sigils! Write them in your notebooks, on your art supplies, whatever! Scroll through this tag and check out what they have!

3.) Use your desk as a mini sacred space! You almost always have a desk at college, so if you do, fill a space with your little witchy things. One shelf of my desk holds crystals, a salt lamp, my tarot cards, and essential oils and herbs!

4.) Cleansing: My favorite method of cleansing is by using sage, but we aren’t allowed to have smoke in the dorms. Instead, I place my crystals near a salt lamp! The light from the lamp with cleanse the objects placed near it. You can just leave your lamp on while you’re in the room, and it’ll do the cleansing for you! (Please note that not all crystals should touch salt! Some can be highly toxic, so please do your research.)

5.) Spell jars! You might not even be allowed to have candles in your room, or you might need to be a little more low-key with roommates. Spell jars are a great low-key way to do spells. Here is a great masterpost

6.) Crystals! Throw a crystal in your bag with you when headed off to class. Citrine is an easy and affordable crystal that is great for confidence!

7.) Don’t be discouraged. A witch that only practices once a month is still a witch. If you can’t do any of these other tips, just practice the more internal practices of your own craft. This can include being mindful, having a vegetarian/vegan meal, and even meditating for a quick second while in the bathroom stall! Your craft is your own. (These are just some examples. Follow your own craft and beliefs when doing this.)

I hope some of these tips helped you! Feel free to add some more.

Here’s a “life-hack” for you. Apparently concentrated Kool-Aid can be used as a pretty effective leather dye. I was making a drink while cutting the snaps off some new straps for my pauldrons and I got curious, so I tried it, thinking, “ok even if this works, it will just wash out.” Nope. It took the “dye” (undiluted) in about 3 seconds. After drying for about an hour and a half, it would not wash off in the hottest tap-water. It would not wash out after soaking for 30 minutes. It did not wash out until I BOILED it, and even then, only by a tiny bit and it gave it a weathered look that was kind of cool. Add some waterproofing and I’d wager it would survive even that. That rich red is only one application too. Plus it smells great, lol. So there you go, cheap, fruity smelling leather dye in all the colors Kool-Aid has to offer.

WELL THEN!

this may be important to some of my followers *and certainly not just getting reblogged because of my costuming and my boyfriends desire for leather armor*

When I was in middle school we used to use it to dye our hair.  Potent stuff.

If you’re dying anything with kool-aid it’s best to use SUGAR-FREE ones otherwise the thing you’re dying might get all sticky

the flavor only packets where you are supposed add sugar are the best.  they will dye any natural fiber: leather, wool, cotton, hair,  flax, jute, silk and so forth.  heat the dye water so it is more potent.  let dry then rinse excess out in cold water.  there’s  a whole system to this.

Oh my god

This will prove very useful for any future cosplays I wanna do.

i’m really concerned, should you guys be drinking that if it can DYE things THAT EFFECTIVELY?

“Witch” is and will continue to be a gender neutral term.

Keep reblogging this- it’s helping gender nonconforming and male witches feel accepted in the community.
