Graham Coxon Allegations Masterpost

This is a masterpost of the accusations around Graham and how they came to be. In late Oct/November of 2021 an account with the handle @/britpopabuse showed up on Instagram. The account posted screenshots from a gossip message board about celebrities and several mentioned Graham Coxon as someone they had known as publicly cheating on his wife and kid. Another user claimed that she had been in a relationship with him at one point. Another claim posted separately by coxonexpose, that is less verified, alleged that SA happened between her and Graham.

In each part are videos, images, that were shared with the Blur fandom by whistleblowers (blurhatesme, and Britpopabuse), and any relevant information/context. For legal reasons I will be referring to everything as "allegations."

Part 1 - DMs between one of G's young victims (a fan) and him, in his forties at the time.

Part 2 - Bonebagg aka Scarlett & Mirja, the fans who cover for him. The events that likely led up the move to London and separation.

Part 3 - The Asian fanbase speaking to an uncomfortable moment with Graham and a fan during TMW tour.

Part 4 - previous Graham abuse whistleblowers of the past years and their context.

Part 5 - Suzy Norman - Graham's response to telling Suzy to "get fucked up the arse" on his forum.

Part 6 - The selfies he sent a lot of young fans

Thank you so much! I'm glad the posts have been helpful even if the news is not the easiest to reconcile (I know). I would appreciate if this was translated to reach more people. Thank you for offering that. The hope is that this information is visible so that fans are informed/are not abused. If you do translate, please let us know. And thank you.

Just wanted to say, I greatly appreciate the support on here. 💙 Posting this as an archive of the allegations was something I struggled with deciding to do but I think was the right decision. Important to note this was not just me but the culmination of hard work/investigation by several people including britpopabuse, blurhatesme, the Guardian and others who I'd not name to protect them from harassment.

I'm grateful that there have been some open-minded fans looking, reading, and that this information is here in a way that is accessible, which otherwise would have gone silently into the night as it has in the past. It is not easy or safe to post these things but important to put into the open for the sake of making potential victims aware so they can avoid abusive situations or become aware of parasocial tendencies leading them to become potential victims.

Please share if you can. Keep this visible. There are likely young fans in dangerous situations who could use this information when someone they idolize is slipping into their dms. We've seen his alt Instagram accounts following fans, the deleting of followers after being "exposed"... It's not a safe space. All we can do is talk about it openly.

There are unfortunately some people in the list who have asked us to not involve their name in this bc it's upsetting for them and disturbs their family so I don't want to post their name out of respect for their privacy. Fans posted about on this blog were covered by britpopabuse & blurhatesme pretty publicly, so that's why that info is here. That said, I appreciate you sending it, thank you. Just want you to know that's why I'm not directly responding and nothing to do with your ask. 💙

Hey! Sorry I did not see this earlier. I don't know about any proof. I've been out of the loop of blur fandom for the past 6 months, so all I know is the speculation that he was with one of his band members from Gorillaz but my understanding was it was a photo of them (nothing intimate) and fans saying they were together on twt.

Unfortunately, I can't share any more than I have here about the GC allegations, nor can I share my contact info or others info for safety reasons. I understand how that might be a frustrating answer, and I'm sorry about that. You may want to reach out to the named parties here based on their social media handles, or the Guardian specifically as they are the professionals who can investigate this with the sensitivity it needs and have contact information of individuals. The purpose of this blog now is to serve as informative so fans can be aware of any risks based on the allegations.

I'm going to guess since this looks like a new account this question has some agenda? If you don't, sorry, I've dealt with too many assholes. I'm not sure what is meant by 'a lot about the personal lives of the band' as everything I've spoken about regarding GC allegations has come from being a person in fandom space seeing stuff happen in real time or that the band or band's family social media posts on public internet. Also info gleaned from podcasts, interviews etc. over the years. Some things have been stories (temporary) or posts posted then deleted. I don't have an archive of absolutely all of them but the relevant ones I've posted.

I think I saw the picture with Damon you're referring to. I'm not familiar with Rebecca at all, so no idea about her age. I think...generally I've decided I want to know less about any celebrity's personal stuff. Especially Damon. That's not to say I feel blaise about the age gap if true, more just like the area of brain associated with Blur and dopamine is permanently wrecked. Fwiw, I'm not a fan of big age gaps despite what people seem to think from my fic.

If they are over 30 they have an adult brain and life experience, it's nuanced. It's a bit different if they knew each other when she was super young. G and Rose are a good example where the connection happened when she was young. There's probably some parasocial shit to unpack there I don't have the spoons to analyze. Sorry I don't know how to respond to this well except to say that. :/ The rumor is upsetting. The last year of Blur touring drove home how disappointing they all are to me for consciously suppressing Graham's sketchy bullshit. Like, they knew about it, and just decided suppressing fan accounts of alleged abuse by blocking and ignoring was the right path to take. Dave, Alex, Graham and Damon. Now D is saying Blur is not something he wants to do after touring, as if he's remembered how bad it is. If it's a consensual, adult relationship though, cool, I hope he's happy. D seems kind of like a mess these days, maybe it's what he needs and we will get some art out of it. 💙

Hey! Thank you for the kind message. 💛 It's stuff like this that makes me feel like it was worth it to keep this up and document despite all the threats. I am frustrated at the "debunked" narrative; I'm not sure what to do other than keep this up. :/ I mentioned there were a couple of whistleblowers in the past 5 years (blurhatesme and britpopabuse), both got driven out by fan harassment, which is why I felt the need to document this as well as I can so people can make their conclusion.

Unfortunately, it's difficult to say anything about a public figure without risking personal safety, speaking from experience (that's the nature of the internet these days). But, I hope more fans talk about it. There's power in numbers. I still feel awful about some of the alleged victims (outside of the LatinX community even) who opened up after years of processing teenage or early adulthood trauma and were harrassed by fans, down to getting their face photoshopped onto memes, and never spoke again. Least we can do is not let it go unremembered.
