Matatabi seemed quite mad when Kaguya mentioned the name Obito, and how he enslaved two of her children. It made her mad as well, but she had killed him, so there was no way for him to do anymore as the great cat began to calm down, and even purred when Kaguya petted her. “Do not worry my child. As long as I’m around none of you will have to suffer.”

“Although some of your brothers seem to be more at home with the humans versus hating them, and that holds true especially for the strongest of you. I do believe his name was Kurama?” She asked.

“I thought he of all would hate being sealed inside a human, but he seems content. Perhaps we should try to convince him to join our cause.”

⊀ ♦ ⊁ “Kurama...yes..his name is Kurama, he is supposed to be the strongest one, but...uhm..how do I put it? He grew lazy and slow over his years in Konoha, I visited him on a small vacation to kill my boredome and he slept the whole day only to get up to eat. He had his trust in this Uzumaki brat to keep the peace, he said there is no reason to fight anymore. So...yeah...”

⊀ ♦ ⊁ “Oh! But Kokuo, the five tails, has great pride in being a Bijuu! And his pride was badly hurt by the humans multiple times! If you want, I can visit him and drop some hints and see how he reacts, I am sure he is one of the most likely to join us!”

Obito had walked around for hours by now, not searching for anything. He just wanted to enjoy the silence, the fresh air, the green forest and it’s animals. In the end he had walked up the mountain, still some peace in his heart. It was refreshing. Something he hardly felt these days.

He didn’t even notice the chakra of the other one since he was focused on the sunset, enjoying each second of it. The male’s hand sneaked into the pocket of his pants, getting a strong hold of his kunai, to protect himself, if he really needed to, but since the other person didn’t attack him yet -  he noticed the female and felt like he somewhat knew her - he eased the grip on his kunai up.

“I was watching the sunset”, he said with a little smile on his lips. “Why should I leave? Is this mountain yours?”

So he was also enjoying the atmosphere? Then there was no reason to send him away, he was not here to seal her and if he turned out to actually wanting to do that, after all, she would simply fight him and see if he was actually worthy of fighting and sealing her.

⊀ ♦ ⊁ “I just thought you had some nasty business here, but if you just want to watch the sunset, you can stay as long as you want, I like to watch it myself. The mountain has the ability to absorb the sunlight and warm up, it is a good helpful way to get through the night, it gets cold here.”

She remembered his chakra and scent, but she couldn’t put a name onto him, so maybe introducing herself was a good and friendly idea. If her real name was Matatabi, then her human cover name would be simply Mata.

“Yes! It has been a while since we’ve talked face to face. Sadly I do remember that battle. But in the end we did up end being set free and able to do as we please.”

Families were not meant to fight, they were meant to love and help each other. Unfortunately seeing as how they were classified as beasts the humans thirst for power made them do horrible things. A set of wings gave an annoyed twitch at those thoughts.

“And I am doing just that! I am very lucky to be able to fly high up into the skies over everyone’s heads! I bet your highest jump is nothing compared to my wings.”

⊀ ♦ ⊁ “I do jump pretty high, but I guess you are right! Cats are not meant to fly, some bugs aren’t either, but you are meant to do so! Must be a good feeling of freedom, right? But I have other things I can do that the others cannot, I can jump in lava and fire without being harmed, not even Son can do that~”

It was true, her former host was killed in that fight, just like Chomeis. Matatabi was able to live hidden in a volcano for a few years until Kumo came again to seal her in a mere months old child, what happened to Chomei was unclear to her, but she hoped he had a great time.

           Well that was good to know— but her teasing of Kurama               only ended up with the blond being the one to suffer. He               clutched at his stomach as if that would help in the slightest               and winced.                        “N-Neh M-Matatabi— as funny as that is, you’ll make                                                   him mad dattebayo.”               Of course this was absolutely nothing compared to the true wrath               of the kyuubi, but he doubted the one who was practically his               sister could provoke it. However her transformation made him               lose the train of thought completely, the ninja suddenly becoming               incredibly won over by the process. He had to admit, she was far               easier to talk to in this form— less intimidating.                      “Works for me ‘ttebayo. What about comin back with me?                  I’ve gotta pass by Konoha to get to Suna anyway— or ya could                 come with me to see Shukaku! Gaara says hes still a real crank.”

⊀ ♦ ⊁ “People only seem scared of Kuramas hatred, my hatred was so thick and hot once, it set the whole village of Kumo in blue fire. Saikens hatred poisoned a village once, almost nobody survived. Kurama isn’t the only one who’s pretty angry sometimes, don’t forget that.”

But seeing the village hidden in the leaves, this time not in a host, was quite a nice offer. Just like visiting her grumpy brother, the feline certainly wouldn’t refuse that.

“It’s not that Chomei is stupid.  It’s more he acts without thinking sometimes.  He was always bragging to Fuu how he would be the last one captured by the Akatsuki. He was the fourth one to go after you, the Ichibi and the the Gobi. Also,he told me it would be a good idea to go into a village and scream the juubi is coming back to life. He should have known that 99 percent of the humans didn’t know about the Juubi?“

“Don’t worry. I won’t tell a soul.  People are too stupid these days to even believe such a thing. You know, you gotta point when you beleive the human race are full of idiots. What dumbass thought it would be a good idea to harness you guys as weapons anyways? Raikou shivered in the night air. “Damn its cold.”

Matatabis eyes lightened up, the flames covering her body begun to swirl around her, submerging into a tall woman with long dark blue, almost black eyes.

Matatabis wrath filled the hall, just like the cold it was present in every single corner.

Needs to be said that I’m guaranteed to miss people because I’ve a horrible memory and I’m a potato, but aside from that, let’s get this show on the road!     Raikou was shocked at first. This was big deal, a bijuu was placing its trust in him, a lousy stinking human.  Raikou while proud of his power, had a lot of self loathing for the mistakes that he made. There were times he has lashed out at civilians in anger. Raikou had never killed any of them, but he had injured more then a few.  Nothing truly serious though.

He didn’t flinch or blink as the giant cat stared him down.  Raikou was nervous, Anyone would have been with a one hundred plus foot beast looking you right in the eye. He could feel the heat coming off of the great cat.  

The surprised man then grinned happily at that. “Sure… Matatabi. Heh, a fine name you have.” The name carried power behind it. “Not that I am not glad about this, but what made you bequeath such a gift?” The real question he was asking was, “What did you see in me?”

“I have some something to confess too. I once met your brother, three years ago.  Humans call him the seven tails, but he goes by the moniker lucky seven.”  Raikou then started laughing . “Oh, the memories that his partner and I shared. Fuu, she was such a sweet girl. I actually met her when I failed to retrieve you and Yugito .

He recounted how after he was on the verge of death, Raikou floated down a river, only to be rescued by Fuu.  “Fuu escaped from her village because she was treated terribly there.She was a lot like me, masking her hatred behind a mask of innocence.  Fuu was much better at it then me though.”  

“Did you know one time Chomei hijacked Fuu’s body and took me gambling with him.  I ended up losing all my money at the poker tables because of the bug.” Raikou was now honestly laughing at the memories. “Stupid bug left me broke for a week straight! Why does a bijuu need to gamble anyways?” 

“What are your other siblings like minus Chomei. Their personalities, their abilities? What about their partner’s personalities?”  For the first time in three years,Raikou had the weight of the universe lifted off of his shoulders.

⊀ ♦ ⊁ “Don’t forget, if you turn out to be unworthy of knowing my name I’ll easy enough remove it all together. We have pride in our names, respect it and don’t tell it anyone else. The last village who drew my wrath ended up being destroyed and forgotten, nobody remembers the name of it, even I forgot how this pitiful place was called.”

⊀ ♦ ⊁ “Are you calling my brother stupid?!”

The great cat hissed and bared her many sharp teeth.

⊀ ♦ ⊁ “It’s your own fault if you gamble with Chomei, he’s a lucky one...Even though he was captured and kept in a seal for a hundred years, I wouldn’t consider that lucky.”

The great cat huffed and looked in the opposite direction, she should have just left and went on a travel again, but at least this human was amusing, if he got too annoying, though, she’d have to kill him off.

⊀ ♦ ⊁ “I see some weird human who doesn’t make much sense, promises something and hopefully at least tries to keep it. I see someone who was stupid enough to insult a feared Bijuu, but I also see the little Yugito. Does this answer your question?”

Seeing Matatabi try and join her on the balcony was quite humorous to Kaguya, but she said nothing as the bijuu eventually got through the door, and joined her, resting like any cat would besides its owner making her feeling quite proud that her son was able to come up with something that was exactly like her. Hearing her mention the traitors made Kaguya’s blood boil slightly as she looked down at the volcano.

“Yes, the traitor was named Obito and I took care of him with my ash bones, but he somehow managed to pass his power onto some silver haired ninja named Kakashi Hatake. He will pay along with that pink haired woman, I do believe her name was Sakura that prevented me from escaping.” Kaguya mentioned.

Hearing Matatabi say they would suffer put a smile on her face as she reached over and petted her like an overgrown cat. “Yes, we will my child.”

⊀ ♦ ⊁ “Obito Uchiha enslaved two of my siblings, I wish he were alive, I’d tear his guts out slowly.”

The great cat hissed, now she had two good reasons to hate the traitor, but hating someone dead wasn’t a good thing for the sanity, he ought to be tortured over many hundred years, yet he was allowed to die and that probably in peace!

At least she was petted by her mother, this calmed her down pretty fast, her ears twiched in pleasure and she even begun to purr.

⊀ ♦ ⊁ “Holding grudges against someone who is dead sure is annoying. But at least we can destroy the thing he died for.”

Hide and Seek

Naruto, even as Hokage, made time to play with Baruto. He is busy, slaving away as hokage up in his office, and he makes a shadow clone to play hide and seek with Baruto! 

And then Sarada has his back by covering for him! I think that those two are going to make a great replacement for team 7!

Hinata felt bad that she had managed to bump into the woman  standing up quickly she dusted herself off, not sure what to say to her question. “U-um I didn’t mean to crash into you, I should’ve slowed down forgive me.” Bows towards her.

Raikou was shocked as he stared at first Matatabi and then the cave.  This was a sacred place, one where humans should not pass through.  It was a shrine, dedicated to the suffering of bijuu and by extension, the other jinchuuriki.  He realized just how badly the biju had suffered.  The marks on the wall were testament to that.  Raikou had never really expected the biju to be this close as a family.

He sank to his knees, his lips curled into a frown.  Raikou barked out a strained little laugh. But it was not a joyful one. Instead it contained heartache, guilt and regret.  He yearned to tell Matatabi just how sorry he was for never truly understanding her.  There he felt guilt. Heartache at how similar the two were. But he also felt regret at how he thought his pain was worse then hers. “ I-I-I’ve been so fucking selfish all this time.”  Raikou looked at the biju in front  of him.  “How blind I’ve been, never truly acknowledging the betrayals you’ve suffered. I always knew that we were similar in being Kumo’s weapons, but you’ve had it  so much worse then me, haven’t you?”  He hiccuped at that.  

“The way in which I slaughtered the Akatsuki in cold blood; I enjoyed every waking moment of them being in pain. It felt like I was cleansing the earth of a blight.”

“ But now, I see my reason for revenge could never be considered right, especially after seeing all this.” Raikou gestured at the defaced cavern walls. He was silent for several minutes. Then, slowly, a look of renewed determination etched its self onto his face. Raikou took out the scroll and set it on the ground.  He then summoned a small flame into the palm of his hands and touched it to the scroll.  He watched it burn. A small yet significant part of his past now being put into the vault that was his mind. The memories would remain, but their significance would now begin to lessen.

Raikou turned to the cat. “It will be a long and painful road to putting this behind me, but I have to try. For my sanity and the honor of Yugito nii-sama’s memory… If I do not learn to let it go, then I might end up like Uchiha Madara. However, unlike him I keep my promises.” He looked at the cat and smiled, a true visage of happiness, not one of the cynical sneers Raikou gave when he was upset.    

“Nibi-sama, what would Yugito say if she were here right now?”

⊀ ♦ ⊁ “...Suffering is suffering. The fact that someone suffered greater than you, does not make your pain unimportant. Yugito would smile now, if she were here, but I have the feeling she is happy now. And now it is time for me to keep my promise, here is your present.”

The cat leaned down on the floor, so she was about on eye level with Raikou, she sniffed at him a few times and her ears twitched with every sound the atmosphere made. Her mismatching eyes glanced deep into his, as if she was staring right into his soul. Then she leaned closer, still. So close, that her warm chakra flames touched his body. Then with a voice as smooth as silk she whispered something.

⊀ ♦ ⊁ “My name is...Matatabi. Call me by my name.”

The name was the greatest gift a human could receive from a Bijuu, far more important than the endless resources of chakra, the super human power and the ability to be as fast as a beast. It was just that. A name, a personal gift.
