AMARA ZOLA KINGSTON || 36 || HIGHLY RENOWNED CHEF
Amara Zola Kingston was born to Reginald and Yvonne Kingston. Reginald, an entertainment Lawyer, and Yvonne, formally Hann, was a part of the Famous girl group the Hann Sisters from the ’70s.
When Amara was young, she had a love for singing; it was her voice in a world that didn’t like how she looked. She pushed through the stereotypes her whole career. First landing in the girl group 4Sharp when she was just 14 years old. And at 19, going off on her own, owning the charts with hit after hit for 6 years.
After a while, her music started to fade; her team wanted her on diets and lose weight fast remedies, unhappy with her weight. She loved the skin she was in, choosing to go the healthy route and losing the weight on her own terms, but the stress to be perfect caused her to walk away from the game.
It didn’t matter. She was still on top; all that mattered was she wasn’t happy; she wasn’t having any fun. Being a 25-year-old R&B Diva, people expected her to go into acting, but her passions had shifted, and she found a love for cooking.
Trying her hand at the competition, she won Master Chef during her season and took her cooking to a new level. Working for Chef Ramsey, she developed a different relationship with food. Her name sored higher than she could have anticipated.
Now she just wants to slow down. Opening a new restaurant in the Cove called Kingston’s, Amara hopes she can share her love of food with those in town.
Amara is a very loving and protective person; she is kind and stubborn, sassy and sweet. But she also has a mean, mean streak and no tolerance for bullies and jerks. She is soft and angelic but fierce and determined, and Amra is exactly who she says she is, no bull shit required.
