FBI, CIA, NSA — across america, there are no small amount of government agencies dedicated to dealing with threats to the public. some deal in secrets; some deal in bombs. any threat to american society has an elite foundation tasked with making sure the people of the nation never even know the extent to which they’re in any danger. 

 that list of threats includes the paranormal and the extraterrestrial. 

for decades, conspiracy theorists have whispered that the government knows about these threats and hides them from the public eye, and they are precisely right. as cameras and video recorders became more mainstream, so too did the rumours and supposed proof of everything from the darkest parts of folklore. the government realised that something had to be done — they had to create some way of clamping down on these threats, and that meant both investigating the validity of the claims and limiting the story’s reach to the public. and thus was born the LFHS foundation: life forms hazardous to society. on the rare occasions when a sighting turns out to be legitimate and not simply the ramblings of a country hick who’s had one beer too many, the LFHS takes custody of the evidence or creature in question. by now, the remote facility holds dozens of inhuman creatures and thousands of pieces of scattered evidence hinting at the existence of creatures not yet discovered or encountered. 

this will be a discord-based rp server taking place inside the headquarters of LFHS. it’s inspired by the likes of hellboy, x-files, the scp foundation, and the shape of water. if you previously saw my promos for a group called project maverick, this is a new and rebooted version. the group will accept paranormal / alien characters as well as human agents, scientists, administrators, guards, etc. however, paranormal / alien characters must be visibly inhuman. not simply humans with mutant powers, not vampires, not shapeshifters. we’d like to keep this focused on paranormal / alien characters who cannot pass in the human world, which is why they’re being held at LFHS. if you want to make a human character, they’ll have to have a role in the bureau itself, not as a captive. inhuman creatures can be humanoid (as in, standing on two legs, basic human shape, etc), but they cannot be fully human-passing.

all you have to do is send me a message! there’s no formal application process. mutuals and non-mutuals alike can join. just send me an IM pitching your character to me, and if you seem like a good fit for the verse, i’ll send you the link to join. canon characters from any source are welcome, as are ocs.
