2021 was a tough year. I mean, it told 2020 to sit down, shut up, and watch how it's done. What 2021 also showed me is certain people's true colors.

People that play victim and justify their wrongdoings by making it your fault are a waste of time and energy. Fake people that talk all sorts of trash behind others' backs and get busted then try to act like they didn't (even though you have receipts) are not worth the time. What makes me happy is when these types of people wind up being the best of friends. Can't wait to see that train wreck when it happens. So yes, 2021 was tough, but it sure showed me to take out the trash and leave it at the curb. It smells unpleasant and is ugly to look at.

Now for the good part, I am extremely thankful and happy for the people in my life that make it better. Those that make me laugh, listen when I need it, and send positive vibes. Those friendships are the ones worth treasuring.

But now I just heard Betty White died. So fuck you 2021. Let's go 2022, I'm ready for you, baby!

2021 taught me some lessons, some harder than others. I’m stepping into 2022 holding tightly those lessons and hopefully as a better version of myself with a lot more room for growth. I’m going in with pretty amazing old and new friends, and they’re true friendships, which after the last year is something I unfortunately learned from a rough experience can be very hard to come by. And I’m going in with high hopes that this year will be better than the last.

Hey everyone @leelee10898 & @emichelle here, welcome to the 4th year of Choices 12 days of Fictmas! This will serve as the "official" 12 days post, where we will give everyone the rundown of what to expect. 

Before we get into technicalities, we just wanted to say THANK YOU! Thank you to everyone who has supported and joined us for this event. May it be this year or years past one thing is certain, we can not do this without the help of all of you, and because of that we continue this event! 

Now onto the meat and potatoes of it all. 

This year's theme is "My Favorite Things", each person will be given a "thing" chosen by random generator, either Erin or Alicia will reach out via message with your day and topic. You do NOT need to send us a list or anything else. (The list of things that will be put into the random generator is posted below.)

As always we run the 12 days from December 1st through the 12th. Please make sure you post on the day you are given and include all writers in the tags as well as the readers and include the hashtags. (All information will be provided to you). Feel free to tag your personal tags as well if you'd like.

Each submission needs to include at least one Choices character from any book you'd like and feature your assigned "thing" in some way. It could be a mere mention of it, could surround the theme of the submission or just be in the title. Whatever you choose. Please remember to add any warnings I:E lemons, angst, death, ect. 

Last but not least, have fun with it. We are not excluding other holidays so if you'd like to write about another winter holiday, go for it! We also are still accepting participants so if you missed the first post, let us know and we'd be glad to add you as a writer OR a reader.
