LGBT+ Submissions Call

Our subs box is currently OPEN.

We are especially interested in:

  • Contemporary romance
  • Category romance (low-angst, relationship-centered contemporaries with your favorite tropes: arranged marriage, secret babies, marriage of convenience, reformed rakes, etc).
  • Light-hearted romantic comedy
  • Sweet romance
  • Epic and high fantasy romances
  • Lesbian romance
  • Trans, genderqueer, and ace/aro romances/relationships

We do NOT want: stories that end in death. Enough of us die in real life; we will not perpetuate the Dead Queers stereotype in the fiction we publish. We DO accept scrubbed fanfic, so if you’ve been itching to turn that 80K coffee shop AU into a novel, we’ll read it!

A child free from the guilt of ownership and the burden of economic competition will grow up with the will to do what needs doing and the capacity for joy in doing it. It is useless work that darkens the heart. The delight of the nursing mother, of the scholar, of the successful hunter, of the good cook, of the skillful maker, of anyone doing needed work and doing it well—this durable joy is perhaps the deepest source of human affection, and of sociality as a whole.

— Ursula K. Le Guin, from The Dispossessed

Hi all! Do you want to read more WLW fiction? We’re giving away FREE copies of The Wrong Woman, by Cass Lennox. This is an #OwnVoices story, and it comes with a sneak peek at Entanglement, a sci-fi f/f romance. Entanglement features an asexual protagonist in a romance, which is sadly still rare these days.

AYYYYYY, free gay book alert! And Cass Lennox is an exceptional author.

The giveaway is still going on!

If you love MM, FF, or any LGBTQ+ fanfiction and you’re a fan of urban fantasy, such as Supernatural, Shadowhunters, Lost Girl, Teen Wolf, Buffy, etc, then do yourself a favor and check out Cutie and the Beast by the fabulous EJ Russell.

Cutie is a fun, adorable tale about a rigid (heh) beastly fae who seems to be suffering some sort of curse (?) that leaves him disfigured, and a friendly, cute human (??) who accidentally ends up his secretary. He also doesn’t seem to think there’s anything wrong with the way his boss looks, and he isn’t buying the BS.

It’s got this adorable cover:

Check it out at Amazon or Riptide

Just two queer men tripping all over the legends. Check out Wolf’s Clothing by EJ Russell!

For Trent Pielmeyer, the answer is run like hell — away from his hostile family, away from the disbelieving cops, and far, far, far away from anything that smacks of the supernatural. After seven years’ captivity in a whacked-out alternate dimension, he is so over legend tripping. When Christophe Clavret spots Trent in a Portland bar, he detects a kindred spirit — another man attempting to outrun the darkness of his own soul. But despite their sizzling chemistry, Trent’s hatred of the uncanny makes Christophe hesitant to confide the truth: he’s a werewolf, one of a dwindling line, the victim of a genetic curse extending back to feudal Europe. But dark forces are at work, threatening more than their growing love. If Christophe can’t win Trent’s trust, and if Trent can’t overcome his fear of the paranormal, the cost could be Trent’s freedom and Christophe’s humanity. Or it might be both their lives.

Get a little fantasy with your enemies-to-lovers story. On the Subject of Griffons by Lindsey Byrd is currently on Kindle Unlimited!

Summary:

They’ll do anything to save their children’s lives, even if it means working together. Kera Montgomery is still mourning the sudden death of her husband, Morpheus, when her youngest son falls victim to a mysterious plague. With no medicinal cure, Kera must travel to the Long Lakes, where magical griffons capable of healing any ailment reside. As an heiress unused to grueling travel, Kera struggles with the immense emotional and physical strain of her journey—one made more complex when she crosses paths with her husband’s former mistress, Aurora. Aurora’s daughter is afflicted with the same plague as Kera’s son, so despite their incendiary history, the two women agree to set aside their differences and travel together. The road is fraught with dangers, both living and dead. Each night, old battlegrounds reanimate with ghosts who don’t know they’ve died, and murderous wraiths hunt for stray travelers caught out after dark. If Kera, Aurora, and their children are going to survive, they’ll need to confront the past that’s been haunting them since their journey began. And perhaps in the process, discover that old friends may not be as trustworthy as they once thought—and old enemies may become so much more.

Craving something HOT for your Valentine’s Day? Check out Too Hot! by Avery Giles. It’s currently FREE for KU subscribers and just $3.99 to non-subscribers.

Summary:

Sparks aren’t just flying . . . they’re catching.
Eli Johnson is not a hero. He’s just a guy who’s doing his best. His mother was a hero, though, and when she died, he dropped out of college to become a firefighter—a vocation she would have been proud of. He might not be able to save everyone, but he can do what she taught him: put more good out than bad.
Charlie Kinnear is definitely not a hero. When he ran into a burning building to save a trapped child, he was acting on instinct. He’s not expecting a medal, or for a handsome firefighter with a stunning smile to give him his oxygen mask. Charlie’s light-headed, and not from smoke inhalation.
Right as their romance begins, a serial arsonist terrorizes the city. As if that weren’t bad enough, Charlie appears at the scene of every fire. Eli hates to think it, but if someone wanted to get a firefighter’s attention—say, a certain sexy someone who coincidentally wandered into Eli’s life—what better way than by starting fires? Sparks are flying all right, and things may get too hot for Eli and Charlie to handle.

Hurry, Too Hot! leaves KU soon!

Get something fun and flirty to heat you up with Cutie Pies by Barbara Bell.

Summary:

Joey works at Cutie Pies, the smallest adult store in Sydney. After his parents kicked him out years ago, the haphazard shop became his home away from home and is the only place where he can embrace his queer, quirky, and—okay—sometimes a little awkward self. When Mick, a new-to-town customer, walks in asking for a dildo, Joey thinks it’s all a part of the day’s work. Except Mick’s large dark eyes, shy smile, and kissable lips—along with the ten-inch dildo he bought—quickly win him a starring role in Joey’s nightly fantasies. Joey can’t stop thinking about him, and Mick’s continued visits to the store make him even harder to forget. Mick is shy and sweet, but also secretive and uncertain. As the two grow closer together, Joey starts to wonder what Mick really wants from him, and whether he can risk falling in love with someone who might not be free to love him back.

Cutie Pies is FREE for subscribers until it leaves KU at the end of February. Non-subscribers can snag it for $2.99.

This angsty, gay romance is here to reach into your heart and tug. Inside Darkness by Hudson Lin is currently free for Kindle Unlimited subscribers! And just $3.99 for non-subscribers.

Summary:

He’s come in from the field, but the darkness has followed him home. After a decade as an aid worker, Cameron Donnelly returns home jaded, tired, and with more than just a minor case of PTSD. Plagued by recurring nightmares but refusing to admit he has a problem, Cam quickly spirals into an alcohol-infused depression, and everyone around him is at a loss for how to help. Journalist Tyler Ang met Cam on a reporting assignment in Kenya, and their first encounters were rife with hostility and sexual tension. Back in New York, their paths continually cross, and each time, Cam’s brokenness reminds Ty more and more of his own difficult childhood. Letting Cam in goes against Ty’s instinct to live life autonomously, but the damaged aid worker manages to sneak past his guard. Their relationship is all sharp corners and rough edges, and just as they’re figuring out how to fit together, a life-threatening accident puts it all in jeopardy. If they want a future together, both will have to set aside their egos and learn to carry each other’s burdens.

Hurry! Inside Darkness won’t be on Kindle Unlimited for long!

Summary:

For Logan Conner, the answer is almost anything. Guilt-ridden over trapping his college roommate in a ghost war rooted in Portland’s pioneer past, Logan has spent years searching for a solution. Then his new boyfriend, folklorist Riley Morrel, inadvertently gives him the key. Determined to pay his debt—and keep Riley safe—Logan abandons Riley and returns to Portland, prepared to give up his freedom and his future to make things right.
Crushed by Logan’s betrayal, Riley drops out of school and takes a job on a lackluster paranormal investigation show. When the crew arrives in Portland to film an episode about a local legend of feuding ghosts, he stumbles across Logan working at a local bar, and learns the truth about Logan’s plan.
Their destinies once more intertwined, the two men attempt to reforge their relationship while dodging a narcissistic TV personality, a craven ex-ghost, and a curmudgeonly bar owner with a hidden agenda. But Logan’s date with destiny is looming, and his life might not be the only one at stake.
