@rukihimeweek / rukihimeweek.tumblr.com

Hey, lovelies. It's RukiHime BR/OTP Week! We've got you covered on edits, fanart, fanfiction, and more about Rukia and Orihime of Bleach.

Hey everyone!

In theory, our little event should be over, but as usually, we’re waiting around a week with the “official” closing post. So don’t worry about being late to the party!

For anyone who missed it, here are this year’s prompts!

I must add I’m very happy to see that even for now, we managed to have entries for each day and of each most popular type - edits, fan arts & fanfics. Bleach is long finished, so to see the love for our small bro/ship going on is very sweet. :)

Basking in marble arms.

Fandom: BLEACH
Characters: Rukia Kuchiki, Orihime Inoue
Pairings: Rukihime
Words: 400+
Summary: For Rukihime Week 2018, prompt 2 “what if?”. SFW. Post FKT arc. Do not tag as BroTP. Rukia’s first love confession isn’t what she expected it to be, but she’s learned it’s better not to ask for more.
AO3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/16927614 Dreamwidth: https://rinusagitora.dreamwidth.org/1912.html FFN: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13143063/1/Basking-in-marble-arms

Orihime’s back was as smooth as freshly-dried concrete. Pretty and pristine. Rukia laid her ear against Orihime’s back and listened to the steady beat of Orihime’s heart.

She was glad to have Orihime back. Rukia’s shoulders weren’t strong enough to bear the weight of her absence. God, if Orihime, had died, Rukia was sure the world would crash and burn like a car accident. The idea alone made Rukia’s chest tense with anxiety.

“This is really good, Rukia!” Orihime chirped. They ate together on the porch that outlooked a koi pond. Rukia shovelled her pork bowl down much faster so she could hold Orihime. Ukitake-taichou would scold her if he ever found out Rukia prioritized snuggling over sustenance, but he’d live.

All Rukia really wanted was for Orihime to be comfortable. When she awaited her execution, she missed the little things: running water, warm meals and chilled beer, pajamas. Hueco Mundo was hardly hospitable. She figured Orihime would appreciate any mundane gesture, like food Rukia made herself.

♥   It’s time, everyone! Time for our little RukiHime BR/OTP event!  ♥

This year, we’re going with a weekend full of our favorite Bleach girls. So circle the dates: 7th to 9th December 2018! (due to all the links on our site we’re not changing the url, it remains rukihimeweek)

  * PROMPTS *

For each day, we have an idea-based & a visual prompt. You can choose any of them regardless of content type or combine both.

Day 1 - 7th December:  missing scene / pastels

Let’s start with filling in the canon - what scene did you feel should happen, but did not? A dialogue, gesture, or maybe an omake of sorts. Or maybe you want to see our heroines in pastels? It can be just the outfits, the whole color palette or anything in between. It can even be a theme for a story, too!

Day 2 - 8th December: what if? / contrasts

Time for reimagining the canon! What ifs are bigger story elements than simply a missing scene, but still within the frames of the original plot. What’s the direction you wanted Rukia and Orihime’s relationship to take? Time to show us! Or do you want to explore the contrast between the two? Either in personalities/history, the designs, or by using contrast in your art/edit.

Day 3 - 9th December: your ending / patterns

The last chapter of Bleach wasn’t exactly full of RH scenes. We can change that! What would be your ideal ending for them? What would be their very last interaction that we get to see? From reflecting back on their journey to getting married, anything goes! The visual prompt are patterns, but as always, it can be used in a story too - everyone follows a pattern of some sort, after all.

Remember: you can also use the prompts form last year’s event, in case you  missed it or want to revisit the themes, or even use none of the prompts at all if they don’t inspire you. What matters is sharing new RH content!

* RULES *

General rules:

1.       If you’re using the prompts, then the posts for each one are meant to be published on the day of the prompt. But don’t worry if you don’t make it in time – it’s okay to publish them later on during the event. And even after the RH BR/OTP weekend ends, we will still track the main tags for some time.

2.       All kinds of posts are welcomed – fan arts, edits, aesthetics/moodboards, fanfictions, headcanons, meta/analyses, cosplay, handcraft, etc.

Tags:

1.       Please tag your entries with either rukihimebrotpweekend or rukihimeweekend. We’ll be tracking both!

2.       While reblogging the entries here, we’ll be using the nsfw tag if needed. Bloody scenes will be tagged with injury.

3.       It would be hard to precisely separate the platonic and romantic content, especially since female friendships are often full of affectionate gestures, so we’ll be using the tag romanticrukihime only for explicitly romantic content like kissing, getting married, pictures with romantic descriptions, etc.

Restrictions:

1.       No plagiarism – stealing will not be tolerated. It’s ok to use stock photos, famous paintings/movie scenes, etc. as references for your works, but it’s not fair to use or edit the pictures of other fans (unless you have their permission).

2.       No bashing of anything/anyone. We’re asking everyone to remain positive and focused on what we do love, not on what we don’t. Please be kind!

3.       No pairings other than RukiHime. This event is meant to be enjoyed by anyone who loves Rukia and Orihime together, no matter what other N/OTPs they have. So if you want to make some platonic RukiHime, be sure to not include any specific ships. You can, however, allude to the girls having spouses/kids, just without making known who these spouses/the fathers are. This also means no OT3s/OT4s, etc.

That’s all, guys! Looking forward to have a great time with you this year, too! Please spread the word by reblogging this post, thank you!

The event officially starts now! Don't forget to tag your works with either rukihimeweekend or rukihimebrotpweekend, or to tag our blog!

Hi guys, would you be interested in participating in RukiHime week this year or not really?

Obviously it won’t be in October like last year, but how about December / end of November? I’d lean towards December since I’d have to be the only mod this time around, but it’s still up to you. :)

When Is going to be the next rukihime week?

Avatar

Thanks for the message! I’m glad you’re already interested in the next event. :)

The original idea was to make the next one at the same time as the first one, so at the beginning of October 2018. However, this may change to say, September 2018, or maybe even earlier, depending on the interest.

In the meantime, everyone is still welcome to use the prompts from the RH Week 2017. There is no time limit!

Hello, everyone! It’s almost two months ago that our little event took place - how the time flies! - so we figured it’s enough of the waiting for the late entries and a good opportunity to finally say “thank you” to all our talented participants. So here it goes! Many, many thanks go to:

@art-heavenly-knight  - for a wonderful & super sweet drawing for the AU day

@ayinvui  - for a gorgeous & full of happiness entry for the start of our event

@bibi-loves-books - for a beautiful & touching edit for the Angst day

@ohsoverylittlehoneybee - for truly amazing edits for multiple days of the RH week. Thank you for your enthusiasm and hard work!

@rinusagitora - for a fantastic & very cool picture for the Fashion day

@salzrand - for a stunning & full of grace portrait for the Fashion day

@sls-scifiandart  - for excellent entries for EVERY day of our event! We’re very happy to have had such an active participant! Thank you for your energy & work!

@way-beyond-stars - for an awesome & really cute art for the Fashion day

I’d also like to thank my dear co-admin, @wijnruit, for making our little dream project come true and working hard with me on the RukiHime BR/OTP week. You’re the best and making this event wouldn’t be possible without you!

Finally, a “thank you” goes also to all the people who helped spread the word about the RH week and motivated us (especially to dear @sera-shirato) and also to fans who reblogged and commented with lovely tags on the entries. I’m sure I’m also speaking for the authors of the entries now, when I say that your support is greatly appreciated!

And remember, it may be an official “it’s over” post, but everyone is still very much welcome to make entries based of our prompts anytime they want! :) We’re still watching the tags.

See you - hopefully - next year!
