A/N: Here’s Rosalyn! Bright-eyed, bushy-tailed, and ready to strike out on her own, she ran away from home set off in search of the beauty she could create in the world.
As a regular human, she’s a mix of slightly more “down to Earth,” and more driven to prove her point. She is no less obsessive, and no less exciteable. But unlike her gem counterpart, she’s been able to see the consequences of her actions (and the actions of those around her), and she’s a little more cautious when it comes to acting on her impulses. …At least a little.
Not that she could be considered “normal” by human OR gem standards.
Before having Nora, she “gifts” the stage-name of ‘Mr. Universe’ to Quartz. He loves it so much (and doesn’t have a “last name” to begin with), that he ends up choosing to use that name when interacting with human society. After Nora is born, Rose takes ‘Universe’ on as a compound last name for the husband she “sort of” married, and lost.
So…Pink Diamond becomes Rose Quartz. The rebellion calls him Quartz, as a sign of him fighting for the ‘common gem’. He then takes on the stage-name of “Mr. Universe,” and goes by ‘Quartz Universe’ when humans ask what to call him. If they ask what he is, he’s a gem. A Rose Quartz. But to the gems, he’s Quartz. And to the humans, he’s Mr. Universe.
Rosalyn DeMayo calls herself Rose, and doesn’t change her name up until it’s clear that she’s going to lose Quartz. After he’s gone, her name becomes Rosalyn DeMayo-Universe, and that’s the name she gives Nora.
Nora Quartz DeMayo-Universe.
