A FEW NOTES TO SELF:
◦Write whatever the fuck you want, you don't have to meet with anyone's expectations if not yours ;
◦Write whatever you resonate with the most and don't feel pressured to write something you're not fully comfortable with. It's fine to try things out of your comfort zone but it's not okay if you're extremely uncomfortable with writing certain things and if they provoque you a sense of distress;
◦Followers number and how many notes or reblogs you get say nothing about you, you can be a great writer but have just a few notes. Don't let this dictate your person;
◦It's great to have feedback but as long as it is constructive critisism, if someone is just being straight-up rude and hateful, block the blog. Don't let shitty people overpower you;
◦We all write about our favourite characters in different ways, not everyone has to like and enjoy your content and it's completely fine. Everyone enjoys different things, stick to your own thing because you'll definitely find people who enjoy your works;
◦Nobody is pointing a gun at your head, if people pressure you don't listen to them. Take your time and do your own thing, we all have a life outside this app;
◦It's okay to feel unmotivated, don't force your own writing. Again, take your time and motivation will come to you sooner or later;
◦Don’t let the internet “jury” dictate what’s canon or not. We all have our own headcanons and you have the right to share them without people bashing you for them;
◦I noticed lots of people being afraid to post their own things because they are “scared” of getting attacked. I find it so funny how people are pressed about fictional characters. Again, don't be afraid to speak your mind, it's not like these people know you in real life anyways, you’ll most likely never meet them. Don’t let them hold so much power over you;
◦Loving and writing about villains doesn't make you a bad person;
◦The environment of social media can be extremely toxic. I know how difficult it can be to some people to ignore what others say online but we are not in control of what people post. If you see something that doesn’t resonate with you and that's fucking with your mental health please block all of those people who are potentially toxic for your well being;
◦Fiction is fiction, the elements are purely fictitious and made for personal enjoyment. Fiction is great to detach a bit from real life which for some people can be rough. Write whatever makes you feel better and comforts you, whatever makes you smile and cry or just anything you like. Enjoy yourselves and have fun writing your ideas!
I was going to make this as a note to myself only but figured it could be helpful for others too.
