bucky is in the beginning stages of his soon to be year long menty b. gale suggests he goes to london. bucky asks gale out (to go to london with him) which is basically the same as saying that gale is the only thing that will make him feel better. gale rejects him. its really awkward so gale starts dancing with a dog. he winks to try to re-establish normalcy. this is all bucky needs to gaze so fondly at him that its genuinely sickening to watch. benny is one singular foot away during this whole conversation.

not “oh my god it’s just a tv show” as in you are not allowed to find genuine joy and form a true connection to fiction, but “oh my god it’s just a tv show” as in, if it legitimately stresses you out and impacts your mood when things don’t happen exactly the way you want them to, and it causes you to lash out at other - real - people, maybe you need to take a massive step back.
