Being alone with the man you are in love with is awkward, right? You had been aware of that since you were in the office, having a last look at the day's testimonies while Hugo was writing something with the typewriter. It was only you and him in the same room. At midnight. No one else. And As it was expected, the atmosphere to you was kinda uncomfortable. However, it also radiated safety. Also, it would be a great opportunity for you to get out of the closet and express how you feel. If you weren't shy, of course. Not even Murphy and Peña's encouragement wasn't helping. But you were trying to make things a bit obvious by staring at him, something almost impossible as you were afraid of his reaction. What would he think? "Just tell him how you feel, dumbass! Only then you will know." Peña had told you once upon a time. While replaying these words on your mind and doing your work, you suddenly started tapping your fingers on the desk nervously and taking quick breaths, like you were having a panic attack. Expectedly, that got his attention since he left whatever he was doing, rushed to check out on you and placed his hands on your shoulders.
"Hey, are you alright?" he asked you seemingly concerned.
"Yes, Colonel Martinez, I'm...fine." you replied looking down.
"Are you sure about it?"
"Yes, sir. It's ok."
"I know how it feels like" he added 10 seconds later.
That made you more nervous than before. And the hands on the shoulders? That was one step before the last straw that would be coming and you didn't know it yet. All of this - the gentle touch and the small distance you two had - made you swallow as you were avoiding him trying to look in your eyes. You weren't doing it on purpose. In fact, you were always an introvert and were away from the others. Hugo knew that characteristic of yours and was trying to approach you, something that wasn't easy for Steve and Javier when they first met you. Of course you were letting HIM come emotionally close to you, he was the love of your life. But now, the closure was both emotional and physical. And he knew how it felt like? What was it?
"What are you talking about, Colonel?" you inquired confused.
"I understand how you feel. I always did." he responded.
"You don't understand anything!" you shouted and got up to leave the office.
He instantly grabbed your hand and pinned you on the wall. You didn't try to resist or say anything. You just stood where you were put and had your eyes on the floor. Then, he cupped your face and lifted it, so that you would look at him straight in his eyes. He was so close that you could feel the warmth of his breath. Be honest. That was satisfying you, wasn't it? And as you were about to say something, the thing that seemed so impossible to you, finally happened! Your Colonel kissed you. And it wasn't a quick peck on the lips. This moment was an experience that had your body paralyzed. Why is that? Certainly because it was very gentle. And slow, like a torture. Nevertheless, that was a beautiful torture to you, to which you were responding by not resisting. Even if you wanted to? You could never! When this(the kiss) was over, you felt a difference inside you. More courage, which probably led you to pull him close to you and kiss his right cheek and look at him. Straight in the eyes this time and smiling.
"I think I should go now. And thank you for that."you told him in a shy way while laughing.
"Buenas noches, quierida" he told you softly.
You didn't reply at this. You just turned your back to go home. And when you reached the door and opened it, he said these 3 words, these 8 letters that are said to the ones we love. Ok, this was the last straw, in a good manner of course. All you said? Absolutely nothing! Not even a goodnight, or "me too". Just walked away with a smile on the face, which was because of the pleasure and the belief you were feeling that moment. It goes without saying, you would tell Steve and Javier about that moment you had with Hugo. And the would be very so happy for you that they would open a bottle of whiskey or tequila, whatever you wanted, to celebrate.

They say that little sisters have an obsession with their elder brothers. Well, that was the case for your precious princess who at the moment, was holding your skirt and asking for her brother, not letting you finish the cooking procedure. However, you wouldn't get mad at her since it wasn't the first time this was happening. Both you and your husband recognized the weakness she had on him.
"Your brother will not be late, sweetheart. He will come with your dad soon. Now go and play checkers with uncle Javi and I will join you later, ok?" Your princess nodded with a pout on her face and headed to the living room. She wasn't a big fan of Peña, you know. But she would usually laugh when he was trying to amuse her with these funny faces he made. This time, it didn't work though. Your daughter was still pouting. "I didn't do anything stupid, right?" Javier asked you confused. "Don't mind her. She has her father's stubbornness. She is a Martinez Javi, what did you expect? Hugo had warned me for that." you replied while joining the "uncle and niece" duo in the living room. Your little girl instantly rushed towards you as she wanted you to hold her in your arms, which you did. Then Javier started singing a nursery rhyme to please the princess, but he failed since she was shutting her ears and burying her face on your shoulder. "No singing, uncle Javi!" she shouted angrily, making him eventually give up trying. It was her day, somehow. That was official.
After a three-hour chit chat with Peña and an infinite mother-daughter hand game, the door finally opened and someone started whistling familiar notes. Your princesa got up without wasting time and ran towards her dearly beloved brother, who held her in the air, making her clap her tiny hands in delight. Cute moment, wasn't it? You couldn't stop admiring them. You loved them both, even if Hugo Jr wasn't your real son.
"Where is your papá, Hugo?" you asked after noticing your husband's absence. "He has to get something finished and he'll be back, not late." your other precious answered. "Now I'm taking this little one with me in the bedroom, if you need anything, tell me." he added before going upstairs with his little sister, whom he adored. You see, when you got pregnant, you thought that he would get emotionally hurt and never accept neither you nor her as his family. And hurting him was the last thing you wanted. But you were proven wrong. Your stepson was always trying to spend as much time as he could with you before and after the birth of his sister. Mature way of treating your father's second wife, right? That's kinda unusual in other families.
And about ten minutes later, your husband finally came home. You instantly went to greet him with a kiss and Peña made a kind of funny military waving, to which Hugo replied with calling him "Agent Peña". "The children?" he asked after turning his sight at you. "Playing upstairs. The little one wouldn't stop being grumpy and stubborn if little Hugo hadn't come earlier." you responded. "Little Hugo? Seriously?" Javier asked you surprised. "Not my fault that senior and junior Martinez have the same first name, Peñita. I wanted a way that would help me not to mistake them. And yes! Seriously!" you told him. "Now let's get seated and play cards. I'll wreck you both!" you said confidently.
And that's how it went. You were so lucky that you couldn't stop winning any round, making Javier a little angry and Hugo ready to give up. They were always wondering how you were so good at cards and wanted to know your secret. "Alright, alright! One more time you win, Imma give up and kill you!" Peña warned you. You told him that it was only a game, but don't pretend that you didn't know him. Annoyingly competitive. "Oh please! I mean, you always win. You stole the Colonel's heart without effort, you married him and now you have a child or two with the mini Martinez. And for like two hours, you have been wrecking our asses. What's the secret of your luck?" Javier funnily complained. Before you opened your mouth to respond, Hugo asked curiously a question. "Mentioning the children, what's going on with them? Isn't our princesa too quiet at the moment?"
He had got a point. Your tiny precious wasn't a silent child. Naturally, though, but you also couldn't hear the elder precious talking. That was not typical of them when they played a game. You would always hear their voices. You firstly thought that they went to the playground without saying anything, but Hugo Jr wasn't that stupid to do that. He would ask you and his father about anything that had to do with his sister. So you decided to go upstairs and check it out, only to catch them in a heart-melting moment. Your beloved kids had fallen asleep in the bed and the little sweetheart, covered with little Hugo's jacket, was laying on the elder brother's chest, whose hands were placed on her head and her back, making her feel safe and you tear out of joy. That's how you would feel when your husband was holding you like that, but this is a different story.
"What's happening, love? Are they alright?" Hugo shouted at you from downstairs. "Be quiet and come here!" you told him with a wave of your hand. He quickly headed where you were and got beautifully shocked with what he saw. That moment melted his heart as the way Hugo Jr was holding his sister reminded him of the way he used to hold his son about twenty years ago. He slowly walked inside the bedroom to have a better look at his children and sat on the bed, admiring them with teared eyes. "Goodnight, my angels. I love you. More than you can imagine. And I will always make sure that you two are safe and no one will hurt you. No one." he whispered to them softly and kissed the princess's head and little Hugo's forehead, while you were observing them with a smile on your face.

The roughness he lacks in his voice he makes up for with his personality 😂
so I can speak for the German synchronization . in the German version, the narrator speaks the German and the Spanish parts. The voice is clearly deeper and rougher. his voice is softer when he speaks to his wife or to the avianca bomber's girlfriend.
i was really surprised how his original voice sounds.

But in all honesty, I think that once he is interested enough in someone to move into the courting/wooing he's awkward as hell at first. There is no way a man who is that calm and collected under the threat of fire doesn't sweat it out a little bit over whoever he is crushing on. I just, I don't buy it.
Is afraid of coming on too strong so he tries to dial it back. Will accidentally dial it back too much and not really make it known at all that he's interested. Biggest fear is making you uncomfortable. Emotional literacy?? He doesn't know her.
However once he gets his act together, and gets some kind of confirmation that you're into him, it's a whole new ballgame. He's super charming. Smoothest motherfucker in Colombia. He's got that smirk that you just can't say no to and he knows it.
I don't think that grand gestures are his thing. That's just not the vibe that I get from him. But everything that he does do for you, you can tell that he put effort into it. He isn't the kind of man who half-asses things, he's just not wired that way.
