I made a gingerbread mimic for Christmas this year!
He was filled with sweets & chocolate (take them if you dare!)
The teeth are white chocolate, tongue is strawberry sour strips and under the treasure are delicious marshmallow guts.
He took a couple of days to bake and decorate, but minutes to demolish.
Because it’s Dracula-season again, and because I am absolutely that kind of nerd, I spent some time calculating the actual odds of Lucy surviving all those blood transfusions from unrelated donors. To summarise what I found up front: Lucy's odds aren't great, but they're still a lot higher than you might think.
Now, I’m not the first person ever to tackle this question, and having no medical qualifications whatsoever, I'm not the best person either. But figuring out the answer to my own satisfaction was a great excuse to learn a whole lot of fascinating stuff that took some digging to figure out, so (with the caveat that I am entirely open to corrections from real professionals) naturally now I want to share it.
The complete world history of attempted blood transfusions is way beyond scope for us here (you can find plenty of sources on it online if you’re curious). But as Stoker’s text aptly demonstrates, the science of blood transfusion had come a long way by the Victorian era – just not the means for doctors to reliably predict which transfusions would be successful, and which would simply kill the patient. The principle behind the basic A, B and O blood types wouldn’t be discovered until 1900 – 4 years after Dracula was published, and wouldn't become part of general medical practice for much longer – and the additional Rh-factors wouldn’t be discovered until 1939. In Stoker's day, doctors were still so far behind the ball some of them thought transfusing milk into people suffering blood loss was a good idea (yes, really). And though I'm focusing on blood groups here, it goes without saying there are plenty of other risks that come from letting any Victorian-era doctor open your veins.

Not only does he draw the most quality gobs, but this entire piece took me on a journey that I never expected, that goes down a different path every time I look at it. Why is the naked goblin falling through the roof? Is drunk elf dead or just dead drunk? Is Ramek gonna survive the nailbat to the head he’s about to experience? Is the poor bastard he tripped just in the wrong place at the wrong time, or a participant in the chaos? Is this a shirts optional bar? When is that poor barmaid going to find a less hazardous job?

I’ve been working away on a bunch of fun projects and it’s high time I posted some of them! I finished this little guy off just in time for Swancon - my second try at a fizzgig puppet! I had to try something extra, so I made him with eyes that blink this time around. His paws can also be puppetted with a second hand so he can chuck proper wailey tantrums! Materials: Air dry super light foam clay (coated with varnish), foam and felt on a wire frame. I cast his eyes in resin and painted the backs. His eyes blink on a hand controlled swivel made from wire. Faux fur is two types hand sewn together with added teased wool strands for the big fluffs. I’ll try to record a video too when I get a chance!

stupid comic incoming

I was so moved by all the doujinshi I saw on my trip to Japan last month I wanted to make one of my own, so I spent the next six weeks revisiting some of that Giovanni/Lt. Surge business I was on about a few years back and made a 42 page sexy gay violent pokemon fancomic about Giovanni and Lt. Surge being handsy with each other.
I just finished it so if you want to read it the whole thing is pay what you want on itchio for anyone willing to throw at least a dollar my way for the pdf. (Content warning for blood, violence, eye trauma, gore, and animal/pokemon death, but the actual romancey parts are pretty fluffy and cuddly)

I made Moonshine from NADDPOD, as a gift for the cast when they performed in Perth! I'd wanted to sculpt Moonshine for years, but finally got around to it for the live show. She was done with mere hours to spare,hence the shitty photo shoot, but it's one of the most dynamic poses I've ever tried and thus one of the better pieces I've pulled off.
